Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by overend on Apr 5, 2015 10:24:37 GMT 1, Had a walk around Bristol yesterday and have to agree with feralthings that its a great time with a variety of work and artists. Not only new artists (to me anyway) and established ones, but artists from a few years back suddenly active again (Voyder, Mag1c, Piro etc). Only downside is that pieces don't tend to last long before they get painted over with something new. The Paris/Eko collaboration was good to catch. Can't add anything to feral's excellent coverage but it is a great time to visit. I also recommend the M Shed museum on the harbourside and the excellent cider in The Stable!

Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Feral Things on Apr 8, 2015 19:03:53 GMT 1, As photos of street art and graffiti appear to not be welcome under the new set up (I think one Guardian's words were "I get annoyed at massive slow loading threads where people post street art that im not interested in from some back street in skegness"), I'll make my 1500th post my last one in this thread. I'll keep posting photos of Bristol's street art and graffiti on another forum but, slightly surreally, I'm not allowed to say on here which forum it is!
Cheo and Soker
Bisr, T.Rex, Apire and Ryder

Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by overend on Apr 8, 2015 20:17:25 GMT 1, Sad day for me. Can't tell you how much I have enjoyed this thread and in particular feral's contribution. Can't begin to imagine the amount of time he puts into documenting the Bristol scene. I thought I had a reasonable handle on it but how he finds these pieces and identifies the artist is mind blowing.
Thanks for your time and effort, which I know has been appreciated by many. I must have missed that comment by a forum guardian but that's outrageous. Can't believe that such a person would be given a position of authority on a street art forum.
Love the Cheo/Sokem piece above in particular but sad times. Thanks feral.

Thanks. Missed that 'gem'. Hopefully those views are not shared by management but then he did say he appointed people who had the best interests of the forum at heart!

Great stuff. The street art pics are the best part of this forum imo. And feral's knowledge and effort never fail to amaze me.

Feral, can I just say a huge thank you for the pictures you have shared so generously. And, if you look at some of the comments on this thread, you will see that the view expeessed by FR was very much in the minority (of one!).

Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by Feral Things on Apr 8, 2015 21:41:20 GMT 1, Thank you all for your kind words. The real credit obviously goes to the amazing artists that live in and visit Bristol. I feel very lucky to get to see their work first-hand and I'm glad I could share some of it with you all.

Visit BRISTOL ๐ฌ๐ง Street Art, Galleries, Events, by 11 on Sept 2, 2015 22:00:43 GMT 1, I had a great afternoon out and about in Bristol yesterday and was amazed at the quality and richness of the street-art there. Mr Feral Things was good enough to come out and meet myself and Johnnyh at very short notice and took us on a guided tour of some of the street-art. We got nowhere near UpFest and apparently had covered only a small area but I was absolutely blown away - and rattled off some 200+ snaps - if that is just a small part I think I'd need a very long weekend to be able to say I had experienced most of what Bristol had to offer.
Seriously, London does not come close. We have lots of 'legal walls' these days which amount to hoardings surrounding building sites and there are some key pieces around but the depth and diversity of the art....and the quantity of exceptional pieces in Bristol is unbelievable. And seems to be just as much illegal work that was as good as anything you'd see on a legal wall.
So much history as well, Some really old pieces from amazing artists that have stood the test of time and are clearly respected by their peers to have remained untouched for so long.
Feral was amazing, his knowledge of the area, commentary on pretty much every piece, who was working with who, when....everything. I was truly amazed by his knowledge of the whole area and it just put the whole experience on an entirely new level.
So a very big Thank You to a very valued member who I haven't seen around these parts too often lately, I hope he pops on to make sure I've done Bristol proud with this set of Pics.
Feral Things I cannot thank you enough and know JohnnyH feels exactly the same - and what a perfect piece to finish the day with as neither of us had seen that, even as a picture before (that we can remember anyway) - and yes, the git tried to get me to carry him up that last hill .
These 3 were all the same piece...
