The long way round.
But I feel better having got a few things off my chest.

Banksy Sepia! Wha the Fuck!!!! , by goombagoomba on Apr 12, 2007 19:35:22 GMT 1, I should never have brought the law into it, i agree completely that the law is not the same as good morals and ethics. But lying in my book is ethically wrong. Providing a person with goods or services at a profit is fine in my book, so long as both parties consent.
Still weaselly when the print is not in hand, but like I said, so long as both parties are being honest with each other...

Jesus, maybe he should accept the above arguments, realise the futility of trying set a positive example and end selling his prints at a fair price at all. fuck it, why doesn't he just stop making thought provoking art and become an investment banker.

Banksy Sepia! Wha the Fuck!!!! , by Mobu on Apr 12, 2007 21:48:46 GMT 1, ok there seems to be alot of whoo ha about people selling their prints right after they buy them. Perhaps some people have a genuine reason for it and perhaps not, its not really of interest. The only thing I disagree with is selling a virtual item, meaning selling a print, they do not have in their possession yet. The seller never reveals the number of the print, so the potential buyer cannot verify the authenticity, as POW would probs cancell the guys order if they sniffed the sale. I just dont know how people can try and sell something that they do not have. Ebay should enforce this more strictly.. this is only my opinion though

It annoys people because it restricts "Real" collectors from buying affordable art (what POW and Banksy want)which in turn makes that affordable art now >:(unfordable to collectors.

Banksy Sepia! Wha the Fuck!!!! , by alvington89 on Apr 12, 2007 23:25:44 GMT 1, It is interesting to note that although POW are claiming to be making an effort to reduce the proportion of 'baggers' and 'flippers' that make up their current customer base, they proudly proclaim in their archive section, ebay prices relating to original purchase price of their prints. (The prices quoted seem very cheap now compared to current values). In any case, now that certain unscrupulous types have latched onto this idea POW have changed tack.

Banksy Sepia! Wha the Fuck!!!! , by pastiepie on Apr 13, 2007 7:36:57 GMT 1, The pessimist says the glass is half-empty. the optimist says the glass is half-full. The engineer says the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
That's because I've drunk the other half ;D Reminds me of a Laurel & Hardy sketch when they only have the money for one milkshake, so they plan to share it half half Stan drinks the lot and says his half was at the bottom ;D Sorry a little off topic
