A/P prints priced higher from artist?, by hanksy on Aug 30, 2011 15:31:41 GMT 1, Hi Seen discussions about APs value versus that of the regular editions, but generally speaking do artists offer APs at higher prices?
It seems you may get an imperfect proof, but perhaps more of a one-off or unique print?
Just curious.
Hank

A/P prints priced higher from artist?, by Warm Gun on Aug 30, 2011 17:56:40 GMT 1, I've recently seen some ap's from a certain artist that were twice the cost of the standard print. I don't know if that's the norm but I guess it is. Not only were they not unique ap's (3 of each) but they also came in several different colours, about five in all, each an edition of 3.

A/P prints priced higher from artist?, by craigf on Aug 30, 2011 18:05:59 GMT 1, Depends on lots of things
Is the AP unique in some way or just the same as the standard edition. An example of this would be Jack & Jill, which standard signed is around ยฃ3k - ยฃ4k, but the pink AP is many times this amount!
Also depends on how sought after the print is and a list of other things as long as your arm. I've just bought a very expensive AP, but it's very differerent to the final version. Will be picking it up later in the week and will share it at the weekend ;D

A/P prints priced higher from artist?, by hanksy on Aug 30, 2011 19:08:12 GMT 1, Good info. No problems with the artist making as much as possible, didn't know if the APs were just a way to extend their editions at a higher premium or alternatively pick up some additional cash with the test proofs. looking forward to the pic craig.
