If you're purely interested in the art then I'd suggest giving the PV a miss and go when the gallery is quieter. You'll take in much more. If you're really keen to go to the PVs then I'd recommend buying some art from the gallery.
Not sure I understand the 'return to form' comment. I agree with Coach and ask when was the artist ever off form, whatever that means. Can't recall a significant body of work that has departed from his usual style? Variations maybe, but nothing that has suggested a drop in standards. You know what you're going to get with an artist of Micallef's quality and if you like his style of art then he rarely if ever disappoints.
Very much looking forward to this show and the chance to see the work up close. Girl Tokyo is still my favourite print by a mile and it's always a pleasure to see something new by this particular artist.

Head 3 apparently is to be the print from the show.
