Out of the head studies I really liked 'head with fat'.
The only weak pieces for me were the cigarette boxes, so I wasn't surprised to see that 4 of the 7 were still available.
Hope to pop back in when it's quiet to truly appreciate the work.
I picked up 2 spare show cards, so the first 2 people to PM me can have 'em.. EDIT: ALL GONE

Antony Micallef "Happy, Deep Inside My Heart" Sept, by rrrich on Sept 9, 2011 15:23:00 GMT 1, i managed to get along last night too. it was pretty heaving so didn't get to enjoy the art as much as i'd wanted but will head down a couple more times. for those wanting to buy, most of the ยฃ7k head pieces were still available at the start of the night as was the ยฃ5k piece (not the gold one). be quick if you have pockets deep enough! most of the major pieces were gone tho not the sculpture i believe.

You know what you're getting with the Head Studies so no surprises and therefore no disappointments either. However, the larger works were fantastic and no surprises that they were accompanied by orange dots. The enjoyment for me is in the detail. I guess whoever bought Self Portrait, On Earth As It Is In Heaven will be noticing something new in that painting for months to come.
This is a great show and I intend to get down again and see it when it's a bit quieter.

They looked messy and a bit rubbish to me - like they were hiding mistakes or something. The skill of his painting is clearly there but the collage doesn't work for me. 3k is a lot for a packet of fags but they are nicely framed. Last point. Don't really see how people still get excited by his head studies. Is his head really that exciting!
