Is it Possible to buy a Banksy for $1K?, by lojack on Oct 28, 2011 6:04:05 GMT 1, Is it still possible?
If so what're my best bets as far as which prints to go after?
BTW looking for actual prints, not the tesco bomb or things like that

Is it Possible to buy a Banksy for $1K?, by chaturz on Oct 28, 2011 6:44:51 GMT 1, Silver flags is possible at this price, well should be. I recently picked it up on a best offer VIA eBay for ยฃ625 inc shipping which is approximately $1k. And many forum members have been selling for less. In the UK you may also be able to get the UK black and white unsigned morons at this price but don't know if that changes across the pond

Is it Possible to buy a Banksy for $1K?, by kazzazz on Oct 28, 2011 6:45:21 GMT 1, It will be tough to find but i do think you can pick up a Banksy Flag U/S for around that money.....its not ideal but sometimes slightly damaged prints will come up that once framed will look perfect....these will defo sell for alot less than current value.
I think you are best trying to pay under ยฃ1000, as you may have more of a chance....

Is it Possible to buy a Banksy for $1K?, by johnnyh on Oct 28, 2011 6:46:08 GMT 1, Think you will struggle. The ones worth looking at are Flags which for some reason is always low. I actually really like it as its different to all the others but generally well down the list.
Used to see Toxic mary at lowere rates but have not seen one of those in ages on here so may be they are no longer in the game.
But flags would be your best bet. Its a nice piece as well in my book and a decent size.
Look it up see if you like it and put a call out to see what the response is.
Cheers johnny

Good luck in your search fella..

Is it Possible to buy a Banksy for $1K?, by lojack on Oct 28, 2011 14:37:43 GMT 1, I'll have to scrape together some more then, flags is one of my least favorite prints
Maybe I'll wait and try to grab an applause some time

Is it Possible to buy a Banksy for $1K?, by craigf on Oct 28, 2011 21:19:44 GMT 1, Silver Flag is the largest edition hence the cheapest pricing, plus is easily damaged. I personally like the image, I've somehow managed to end up with two silver and have a lovely gold ;D

Keep in mind that Applause is huge; you may encounter substantial framing costs. Scrapping together a bit more cash is probably IS your best option, if you don't like Flags (which I do, but I'm probably in the minority). In the long run, you'd be happier paying a little more up front and putting something you really appreciate on the wall, rather that just throwing up what you could afford in the moment. You'll find your options really opening up as you approach $2K -- Applause, Trolleys, Morons, various rats, maybe a CND Soldiers if you're lucky. I've seen a few rats go by on ebay recently in the $1400-1800 range, and a Trolleys that went unsold, no bids at $1700. Are you a member of Expressobeans? I was just going through their members' "will trade" pages and saw a couple of Trolleys ($17-1900 range), a Love Rat for $1500, and a Morons for $1100 (personally, Morons is MY least favorite, but a lot of people like it). Obviously I don't know any of these sellers, though, so if you're interested you should start asking for references in their forums. Also, keep in mind that a lot of these prints -- not just Flags -- actually had pretty big runs. Although Flags is known for its "huge" unsigned edition of 1000, its total tirage is only about 1132. By comparison, the tirage for Morons is about 1050, and Trolleys, with its many editions and variants, has a tirage of 1534 or thereabouts. In the larger scheme of things, these runs are still pretty small (even Petrol Bomb's run of 2000 could only be considered a huge amount if Banksy only had 2000 fans) there are enough of them available so that they do come up for sale pretty frequently. So check the market values and buy with your head, not with your heart.
