Artwork Valuation Help Thread, by kunstrasen on Nov 8, 2011 10:36:10 GMT 1, Just wondering if it would make sense to have one thread where people can have help with the valuation of artworks they are looking to sell. Seems to be rude not to post a price on a sales thread these days. And instead of always first starting a thread about the valuation and then a second one to sell it might just be good to have a fixed thread for that where all the experts on pricing on the forum can check regularly. Personally I'm usually not that up to date with current market values but know that others are. So a thread like that would be really helpful for me and surly for others too. Just an idea...what do people think of that?

There are no 'experts' on pricing on here. A few people may track ebay and espresso beans but most of the comments on here should be taken with 'a pinch of salt' as those who own such a print will value it highly whilst those looking to buy said print will value it lower.
Always best to do your own research.

Artwork Valuation Help Thread, by des77 on Nov 8, 2011 11:48:31 GMT 1, Best thing is to just check a rough price on ebay and deduct a % for fees. Although a lot of people seem to forget the fee's they are saving when listing here.

Artwork Valuation Help Thread, by kunstrasen on Nov 8, 2011 12:15:41 GMT 1, Just thought it would be good for those things not being sold on a regular basis which happens rather often. Difficult to judge value on rarer things in my opinion. Anyhow, probably not a good idea.

Artwork Valuation Help Thread, by mrblast on Nov 8, 2011 15:23:36 GMT 1, Whilst anyone with any sense should always do their own research there are a few people on here who do seem quite knowledgeable. I think a thread could be a good idea. Just have to watch out for the 'hype crowd' who always like to talk one another's print values up.
