Pristine & Mint....., by poofly on Jul 12, 2007 10:00:21 GMT 1, Ooh
I quite fancy some Garibaldis, but I seem to recall they got quite a high price on the bay last time, hence not picking them up earlier.
I do have a spare pack of fox's classics that I picked up before they got really big on the biscuit scene that I might be up for swapping.
Let me know if you're interested johnas

Pristine & Mint....., by poofly on Jul 13, 2007 10:52:35 GMT 1, Yeah man.
Got carried away and bought 'a pack of biscuits for oil' by Bourbon off of teaBay at a stoopid price so I need to clear the biscuit tin ready for some new biscuits.
I don't see it as flipping, more that my taste in biscuits have changed and I really like Bourbons new work. I know fox's have been doing a good job, and they always bring out some nice stuff, but I've been into the classics for years now, and I'd just like something else in my biscuit tin for a change.
Anyway I think the starting price for the Fox's classics is reasonable, considering how long they have been around.

Pristine & Mint....., by Cocteau 101 on Jul 13, 2007 10:54:07 GMT 1, I have a box of early Jacob's Club mis-shapes, only 1 box ever produced signed M/S 1/1 and comes with a full letter of provenance with the fingerprint of my auntie who packed the box herself, biscuits come wrapped in special plastic inlay for protection. Bearing in mind the recent stratospheric rise in the price of Jacob's cream crackers this could be your last chance to buy such an early piece.

My uncle works at Mcvities. They are bringing out some new limited edtition digestives. I don't know the details, but I am guessing some sort of white chocolate maybe. Keep an eye on their site.
Bring on the flippers. You can't have a good thing nowadays without it being spoiled

Right, just thought I'd throw this one out for discussion,
Who's is the best biscuit on the dunking scene?
IMO the Fox's Butter Crinkle is the best.
Don't get me wrong I love The Fox's Classic, but I don't really think its part of the dunking scene. I can see the ties to that kinda thing but they are in a different league to the Butter Crinkles.
I mean the classic is just a bit too much for dunking the whole pack, as they are worth that bit more biscuit for biscuit than the Crinkles.
Whats everyones elses views on this?
Whats next to your mug of tea?

Pristine & Mint....., by alderevans2007 on Jul 13, 2007 11:26:08 GMT 1, I suppose the humble hobnob has got to be one of the best on the dunking scene. It will surely stand the test of time.
I hate the way dunking has become a scene of it's own, now that all these confused hybrid biscuit/chocolate bars have come into the mix. It used to be that I could walk into my local sweet shop and I would have just a few lovely little dunkers to choose from. Your Rich Tea's, your Digestives, your Bourbons. You remember.
Ever since the release of the Kit-Kat everything has gone tits up. Everyone is panic buying incase they miss the new big thing. The biscuit world is not how it used to be

Pristine & Mint....., by poofly on Jul 13, 2007 11:54:44 GMT 1, I Reckon we must embrace these chocolate variant bars.
If it wasn't for them, I don' think the dunking scene would be what it is today.
Granted they aren't wholly suited to dunking but if it wasn't for the breakaway in my lunch box when I was knee high to a grasshopper I doubt I would be so into the biscuit scene.
You've also got to remeber that these chocloate variants lead us into the 'straw technique' of biting both ends off and effectively 'dunking' the biscuit variant from the inside out.
Personally I think the Twix is hands down the best of its kind in that respect. Closely followed by the Penguin.
Penguin also gets merits because of its amazing powers to amuse with its wee joke, something that cannot be overlooked at tea time.

On a serious note, I don't think that you should be spending that much on biscuits. The prices are getting silly and it's people like you who are driving the market prices up and driving people like me out of the biscuit market.

its just trying to muscle in on the whole choc bar/ biscuit middle ground.
and don't forget the chunkys in verious sizes and also the peanut thingwy.
I don't reckon it is off topic, cus lets face it we've all had a dunk, and any advice or views on that subject should be just as welcome.
I realise it might not be your cup of tea but that doesn't mean its not a valid tea vehicle.

I can recommend placing a few Fox's Butter Crinkles on your keyboard.
Those babies suck up tea like a yorkshire man on a building site.
