Pristine & Mint....., by poofly on Jul 13, 2007 12:30:39 GMT 1, Does that work?
I've never heard of the fruit tea technique, It's just something that hadn't occured to me.
How does it fair to a nice cup of builders?
Is the milk a necessary part of the dunking experience?
Who else has come across this?
Does that work?

imo, milk is an essential. you can't beat a nice cup of builders (mines limited to 2 sugars though). fruit tea is just plain wrong..... it's like using soya milk in a cuppa

Pristine & Mint....., by poofly on Jul 13, 2007 13:16:09 GMT 1, It does to some extent. You don't want to be pissing around with something that big with your standard sized mug.
Plus I'm not too sure about the muckle big jaffa. Jaffas do not work as a dunking item. AVOID like you would beautiful losers.
What the hell are they anyway? They don't really come under the biscuit moniker, and do we really want to open that can of worms that is the cake bar scene?

Did you know there was a peanut butter twix or even a minty badboy?

Sorry only included it for the LV interest, you're quite right more of an identity crisis than even a Kit-kat, this is an important issue I'll stay on topic, and I don't mean the chocolate bar.
I believe the best tea receptacle for the larger biscuit is the galvanised bucket, I had a local welder adapt me one with a handle.

How does if fair when you've been dunking for ten minutes?
I reckon an adaption of the heating element from a kettle could prove useful for these pimped out mugs and help maintain a constant tea temperature

Pristine & Mint....., by insite on Jul 13, 2007 13:48:20 GMT 1, temperature's not an issue, the galvanising process ensures excellent insulating properties, i find the main problem is with the kidneys, they start to ache after the first gallon, oh and be careful with the sugar diabetic shock is a bugger

blimey they're even more serious about their biscuits than us, they seem to think they've answered the great dunking question too
"1999 was also the year when the Digestive family was further extended with the launch of Milk Chocolate Caramel Digestives. This brand is still unique within the everyday treat biscuit category and was the winner of the McVitieโs Dunk For Britain campaign in 2004 beating all other McVitieโs biscuits to win the title โNationโs favourite McVitieโs dunking biscuitโ."

Pristine & Mint....., by poofly on Jul 13, 2007 14:10:47 GMT 1, It has to be said, McVities totally stepped up the game with the caramel digestive, and it does lend excellent dunking properties to the age old classic.
I wonder if Fox's have anything up their sleeve in terms of pushing the boundaries of dunkability.

Pristine & Mint....., by insite on Jul 13, 2007 14:22:31 GMT 1, Ahh now I understand, so the addition of caramel assists in holding together the biscuit together during extended dunking, but how does the chocolate stand up ? Sorry such a noob to the collecting market I'm just starting to realise the investment value that I've eaten over the years, least I haven't dry mounted any or used blu-tack.

Pristine & Mint....., by poofly on Jul 13, 2007 14:31:05 GMT 1, Yeah the chocolate will stand up for as long as the cohesion between caramel and biscuit under the intense conditions that is a dunk.
I think McVitites totally went to town here. A 3 layer biscuit that isn't in the nether regions of the biscuit/choc bar variant.
Hats off to the 'vities

Pristine & Mint....., by insite on Jul 13, 2007 14:44:45 GMT 1, As we fast approach the third page of biscuit based banter I thought it was time to point out the deep seated irony of this thread.
The word biscuit derives from Latin via Middle French meaning twice baked, whereas this thread is in fact half baked......Ba Dum Tish

Have to agree poofly- this biscuit took things to a whole new level!
For those of you wanting to impress guests when offering tea and biscuits, I can thoroughly recommend you serve them using these-

If only!
That site had only been brought to my attention this morning when I set about doing as little work as possible in the office.
I must admit though, I had a weird sense of acheivement when I went for my lunch.
As we approach tea time, has anyone gone and got their favourite dunk? There's nowhere round here that sells dunkers, just those iffy variants from the darkside that we mentioned earlier...
