Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by saint on Nov 4, 2011 14:37:10 GMT 1, Critically Zen is one of the nicest pieces of art I have seen in a while, very very tempted, and still available! the work is outstanding, I am so surprised to see so little sold. Good for me tho!

It's because there is no hype (which is a good thing).
Surprised there haven't been more comments on the art..looks like everyone is to busy bickering over the new Faile show.
This was the showstopper for me..
'King of Undesire'
You can't go wrong with a bit of Danger Mouse rainbow laser action..
I'm also a big fan of 'earth'.

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by sand on Nov 4, 2011 15:01:47 GMT 1, I know what you mean..they all looked great, be it on wood, canvas or metal.
I liked the fact that the pieces at the back on metal had a more sombre tone to them and thus the colour palate was muted, it worked very well. And the pieces on the confessional booth just blended in seamlessly to their surroundings.
Really happy with the WTM brick I got, and thankfully even my girlfriend approves!
My mate picked up one of the red D*Face x Sickboy bricks. First show opening he's been to and he was really impressed.

The composition of this one and the way the figure's slumped reminded me of Adam Neate.

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by Deleted on Nov 4, 2011 15:10:41 GMT 1, I too REALLY enjoyed the show - the stand out piece for me was "The King Of Undesire" too, was the first thing that caught my eye and kept going back for a sneaky peck. All the pieces on the wall to the left as you go in are amazing... Does anyone know what "The King Of Undesire" and the similarly sized pieces were going for? There were quite a few pieces I was interested in but no-one working seemed to have a clue what was going on

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by sand on Nov 4, 2011 15:13:07 GMT 1, If memory serves me right 'King of Undesire' was just shy of ยฃ7k.
edit: found the price list, it's ยฃ6500.
The larger pieces on canvas ranged from about ยฃ4k-ยฃ8k depending on detail / size.
I've got a price list somewhere...but can't find it atm.

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by geoffw on Nov 4, 2011 15:43:42 GMT 1, Sounds aboput right...then the slightly smaller pieces were ยฃ2.5k (that rocket piece on metal which I loved), about ยฃ1.6 for the larger pieces on wood that were outside the confessional, ยฃ595 for the small face pieces on the back wall, ยฃ495 for the temples (each a series of 4).
Sonny - there was a price list on the desk to the left you had to pick up but I found the entire process pretty annoying trying to find which piece was which.

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by Deleted on Nov 4, 2011 16:19:04 GMT 1, Yes, it's the show print, can't help out with a picture - soz - but I really liked it when I saw it last night. There is also a hand finished version for ยฃ195 - but no-one had thought to display one...
geoffw - their printer (and staff) had gone into meltdown by the time I rolled up
@sand - the Lister bricks are showing up on the SickBoy site as P.O.A., I was told they weren't for sale last night too so bugger only knows!!

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by speebe on Nov 4, 2011 19:56:09 GMT 1, Great minds think alike.... SAND.
I bought this confession brick from the confessional booth display.
Word To Mother + Sickboy
& my younger brother bought the other red D*face brick.
DFace + Sickboy
[/quote]
Although I didn't see the show cards or newspapers Fragile picked up for the ten random forum members... Wish I hadn't told FRAGILE to send the one I put my name in to you instead now Sand....
Great show, shame it's only on for one weekend.

You + your brother should be getting a signed copy though as you were most likely one of the first 25 people to buy something from the show!
Just got an email from Kate @ savetheyouth to check my shipping address and inform me I got one.
Also here's a pic of the gold card slip sleeve the bricks come with..

My brother visited the show today to see the D*face brick he'd paid for and Kate told him they'd only printed a limited quantity of the newspapers but he'd get his special version with his order.
As will I.... ;D

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by aj2010 on Nov 5, 2011 23:36:12 GMT 1, Love the new Sickboy work. For me it puts the new Faile work to shame. Also loved the blocks except unfortunately the Eine ones. I think next to the other bricks Eine's pieces look dull and uninspiring, I do wish he would progress more. Whereas the Xenz and Conor Harrington stand out for me.

Made by EINE in 2009 though.... If that has anything to do with how they work as a whole... or reflect current work?

Sickboy - 'Heaven & Earth' - London - November 3rd, by aj2010 on Nov 6, 2011 3:14:03 GMT 1, One of Eine's blocks used his name in the style that was repeated recently on his cheap print. So really he hasn't moved on. How come his block was done in 2009 anyway. With the risk of repeating myself, I would like to see Eine progress in his art, maybe in a multi media path as I feel he has taken it as far as he can go with his present style. Just my opinion obviously.

The show was originally planned for spring 2010, that would explain why Eine's blocks were done in 2009.
To be honest, this isn't really the thread to be discussing Eine's progression in his art. I would have thought people would want to talk about the amazing show and work Sickboy created instead.
