If this Mantis print was so crap can anyone explain why there's so many people prepared to pay three or four times it's original value almost immediately? not many prints you can say that for.

Really? Seems to me you can say that about pretty much any print at the moment. 
not knocking the print, though, just wouldn't want it myself. If people like it, then their taste is different from mine, and that's probably not a bad thing

When you imagine a child, you have a size in mind, the same of a mushroom cloud, as such the cloud distorts the brains natural scaling of the children,remove the cloud and the children would be to scale.
Its a nice looking print in the flesh, saw it at found and I liked it. It's definitely one I could not own though (wife alert is well trained these days).

I think value is intangibility when talking about new artists that have had false hype based on limited talent.
Although, if an artist has true quality then desire and demand is tangible. And if there are enough people with enough money desire the art, then the value becomes tangible. There is enough 'real' demand out there for Neate to make the value tangible.There is nothing wrong with desiring things of true beauty, it goes back donkeys years.
