: Artists for Autism Awareness Sticker Run, by kalm on Jul 7, 2011 18:42:00 GMT 1, Hello!
I volunteer for Autism Speaks here in Boston, Ma (USA) and am putting together a sticker campaign to raise awareness & desperately needed funding for Autism Research. (Though Awareness is the main goal with this project) I already have the Pawn Works Sticker guys on board to help with distribution via their sticker machines (Brooklyn & Chicago) that make HIGHLY collectible and sought after Artists works accessible to the masses! (for a only buck or 2!)* *A few top tier Artists that we all collect have shown enthusiastic interest as well.
I run a table at some of the busiest music venues in the entire World, (3 years running) and will have the attention of thousands of Art Fans, Collectors and Bands weekly! We're looking for professional, well known Artists to donate their interpretations of this catastrophic epidemic via sticker(s). Our symbol is a puzzle piece. Due to the public nature of this campaign and the high number of newly diagnosed toddlers we will be asking to somewhat tastefully sensor your subject matters. Not only will you be part of a great cause but you would also gain free publicity nation/world wide! Win/Win for everyone involved, especially those families affected by Autism such as mine. I had been volunteering for Autism Speaks for close to 2 years prior to learning my own Son may be on the Autism/Aspergers Syndrome Spectrum. Kinda weird how certain things happen for a reason, but this is evidence of how Autism can affect any demographic at any time. I'm also thinking of contacting 'MELISSA & DOUG' toy company to possibly start a wooden/vinyl-toy/puzzle line for Autistic Families/Kids to utilize during the Early Intervention stage where letters & numbers seem to be the preoccupation. Either medium (sticker/toys) would be great!
Please PM me for more details and an information packet I will gladly send out to all interested parties! Our annual "WALK NOW for AUTISM SPEAKS" event is on October 2nd, 2011 @ Suffolk Downs next to Logan Airport...this is the date/event I would like to raffle complete sets at and you can also create your own team's T-shirt to be worn and entered into the "BEST T-SHIRT" design contest, though attendance is in no way mandatory.
Thanks for reading and i will update this thread periodically
