I couldn't agree more...don't mean to get too deep or heavy on anything, it's just a very interesting point of discussion that I think could probably take up a semester in college (in Psychology) &/or definitely a wide range of dissertation topics.
I also know w/ you Craig the glass is always half full, unless it is beer, then it's on it's way to being finished or kindly being shared

Whilst we all get knock backs in life i have a beautiful family, good health, a great job and lovely art on the walls. It's easy to take all of that stuff for granted.

Re. Nirvana, I have a regret, I was collecting a lot of vinyl back then, and had this vinyl pusher in the UK. This was before emails, so it worked like this: He sent me a letter in the post with the items available, then I had to choose what I wanted, make a int. cheque and send back to him along with my list of wants. Sadly every time it took too long and the "Love Buzz" single I wanted was gone everytime. I was offered it two times, so I'd wish I had just picked up the phone back then and reserved it.
Also had ticket for a Nirvana show in Copenhagen '94, but then Mr. Cobain felt he had to load up on guns.

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by colinfishwick on Jan 23, 2011 22:11:10 GMT 1, Art wise my biggest regret was selling my Grin Reaper on the basis of it not being child friendly - even if i got another one now it wouldn't be the same, it wouldn't be my one
regrets in life? not a single one, i wish i had appreciated the potential of a good education when i was at school, i wish i had discovered my creative side before i was 30 (ish), i wish i read more but none of these things would count as regrets - i'm so happy as i am today that it would be far too selfish of me to regret a single thing that has helped to make me who i am today: good and bad, it all adds up

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Jeezuz Jones Snr on Jan 24, 2011 3:08:29 GMT 1, Only one art regret - not buying a "Headless Astro' at cost a few years back... No other regrets, loving life although wish the misses would allow me a bigger art allowance For years I wish I had taken a job in Hong Kong I was offered when I finished Uni. My mate went & he saved a shitload of $$ and partied hard also... Music regret, I didn't make the effort to get to Spike Island for the Stone Roses gig, I had to wait until 1995 to see them....

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by saint on Jan 24, 2011 15:10:21 GMT 1, Music wise it has to be missing Oasis at knebworth castle in 1996. Not that i'm too bitter, but it was Saturday the 10th, all my mates went, i had a ticket but didnt go cos i was a moron and a girl i liked was having a party so i went there instead. I've never forgiven myself for missing that, Oasis were about the biggest thing in my life in those days, i thought i was liam......
Art wise, i had a whole set of placard rats, and a grat that i should never have let go of. Saying that i've replaced them with things i love more, so not to bothered.

Saint - if it's any consolation, I managed to buy two VIP tickets to see Oasis at Wembley on July 11th 2009 - free VIP party, free drink, free buffett etc etc. .. realised a few days later that I was going on holiday that day (not very organised). Infact - it was a champagne buffet! A mate said he'd have the tickets - then 10 days before the concert said he couldn't afford them - so I put them on ebay and sold them only to get an email straight away to say that a family member had just died and he couldn't pay me. I ended up phoning everyone I knew at the time - Des offered me 50% of their face value so that he could take his new girlfriend. He said to me 'They're VIP tickets - will I meet the band?' - 'Don't push it - I said. 3 days into my holiday, I get a text from Des - thanks for the tickets mate - spent the afternoon chatting to Nicole and Liam in the VIP bar - oh and I mentioned to Nicole that my eldest daughter loves them and she got Liam to give me two VIP tickets for tomorrow night! Biggest regret is Des is a tee totaller - but he had a great time anyway! So there's always a silver lining to every regret!!

I'd seen them once before at the Metro in Melbourne. There were tears in the audience it was so beautiful. At Reading there were tears.....but for a different reason. "I am the Resurrection" felt more like a cruxifiction

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Deleted on Jan 25, 2011 0:59:28 GMT 1, I was lucky enough to see Oasis several times. None so eventfull as when I saw them at Earls court. I bought a couple of tickets from a friend(who had bought the from a friend/t**t). Who turned out not too be a very good friend as he had stolen the tickets. So i go to sit down in my seats and a very polite girl says "if anyone sits here we've been told we have to get security" So my friend and I missed the Support band, you might have heard of them 'The Verve', who were huge at the time. We just couldn't bring ourselves to leave the venue, but we got well away from the seats and back to the bar area. We came up with a plan that when Oasis came on stage we would just run past security and stand at the end of an isle. Luckily everyone stood up and we got to see Oasis. Great gig, especially as we thought it was f**ked up. Got my money back for the tickets too, after a few threats were made.

It's not that I didn't have the readies, it's just that by the time I really started to get into it, you needed lightening reactions and an inside track.
I only became aware of this Forum quite late, mostly on here as a guest for a long time.

What do you REGRET Selling, Buying or Not Buying, by Coach on Jan 25, 2011 22:05:46 GMT 1, Not being hugely into Banksy when you could pick up a canvass for a few hundred quid - just because I very much doubt I will ever own a canvass.
Also, not buying a Charming Baker canvass when I had the chance, because now way out of my league. Did exchange emails with him, re a great canvass of a boy with a gun, which was available, but decided to buy my Herakut og instead. Dont think I will ever own a CB canvass now either.
But those are only the regrets, I have lots of lovely art that gives me great pleasure, and that is what I think about every day, not regrets. c
