is it so hard to pack prints in tubes properly , by dazzer1973 on Mar 10, 2012 11:09:34 GMT 1, I am sick and tied of getting prints that have rolled edges because of poor packing is it so hard to put packing at the ends of the tubes more on cheep thin prints ? errrrrrrrrrrrrrr ebay

When I worked in galleries in LA, we wrapped one tube in glassine, then wrapped the print around that tube, face in. The print was rolled backed with glassine that was then taped around the inner tube.
That inner tube was wrapped once in bubble and slid into a slightly larger outer tube of the same length.
It is NOT that hard to do, it's massively secure, and sensible people would pay a bit more for the double tube.
I was shocked when I first got tubes in which the print was secured solely by the centrifugal (centripetal ?) force of kraft paper expanding out against the tube's inner wall. And then that's how they all came.
Hope for the best y'all...

I had the same thing recently. a cheap print from etsy for my wife for valentines day, (from artists who also have signed and numbered prints sold through a well known urban art website - so probably should know better).
print was a bit dinged around the edges but it framed out ok. generally disappointing though, when this happens. and probably now won't buy from them again.
