Be interesting to know the real deal on it, if so many people are looking.
Didn't Banksy say he'd never knowingly sell a piece to Saatchi....I wonder if a new generation of street artists might say the same about Hirst if he is confiscating art made "inspired" by his own art pieces. I know it will change my perception of Hirst if he has confiscated it.
Come on please share the info. Either way it's good publicity (although I do agree maybe the way the thread was started was not that good).

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by loucastel on Nov 14, 2008 18:54:23 GMT 1, I think it is irelevant whether the work was bought ,confiscated,or swaped for a pickled pig, If you dont like cartrain's work this isnt going to make people go out and buy it. Just seems strange that cartrain has stayed quiet and not told the whole story, dont know what he hopes to gain by this!!!

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by BK83 on Nov 14, 2008 20:00:41 GMT 1, Wow. This thread is going in circles. Is there any definitive information on what's happened here. I'm really interested to know if Hirst has issued a Black Helicopter censorship SWAT Team here. Fucking ironic if he is censoring it considering he has been called out for plagiarism on many occasions in the past. This is even more ironic because this isn't even a plagiarism issue -- Cartrain isn't copying anything, he is making reference to the skull as a pop culture icon. which is fine as far as I can tell and clearly falls within the rights of artistic freedom. He is in now way claiming it as his own work as far as I can see.
I'm so confused. did Hirst censor this shit or not?!

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Gurn on Nov 14, 2008 20:06:25 GMT 1, It seems logical to me that Cartrains seller/gallery has had it's collar felt by the Hirst police for the previous images,it also seems logical that Cartrain has released the following images in response..no confusion in my eyes and fair play to him for milking it...if indeed this is the case.

Thats what I was thinkin as far as I can see all he has done is cut out pieces from magazines and stuck them on a piece of paper, aint that what Peter Blake does? No printing or copying was involved.

If it is an actually responce to hirst stopping your work. Telling the truth from the start without silky banging the drum on how great you would be far better than reading 3 pages of hype.
