Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Heavyconsumer on Nov 14, 2008 20:22:38 GMT 1,
OK Cartrain, this link won me over! Your art finally got a wholehearted response out of me! Thanks! In this case, I'm not sure whether the laughter was due in full to the art in question or this whole situation, but I enjoyed it anyway!
Presumably your work won't be on sale in White Cube anytime soon! I take it DH has in fact called you out for nicking his title and image in your original "For the love of god" pieces then...? Clearly you're not keen on clarifying this in words (or you'd have done so), but imo these pieces with your rather awkward disclaimer probably do a better job than you would in words in any case.

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by stender on Nov 14, 2008 22:01:18 GMT 1, Apart from being a young kid who does really bad art and is linked to 100 artworks i like these. If it is an actually responce to hirst stopping your work. Telling the truth from the start without silky banging the drum on how great you would be far better than reading 3 pages of hype. Cartrain is turning into banksy, one minute he's a kid the next he's 22? does anyone know how old he is?

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Daniel Silk on Nov 14, 2008 22:31:14 GMT 1, Does anyone know about the copyright issue? If you produce a piece of art from cut out images like Peter Blake does. Do you know if he has had trouble with copyright over the years? I just think its an interesting subject and I for one would like to know if there are set rules on that sort of thing or is it a gray area?

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by Grubster on Nov 14, 2008 23:38:40 GMT 1, as far as set rules : cartrain has a ton of set rules put in place by his moms.. he's 15 almost 16. Hence the reason you don't hear anything from him or DH's team regarding confiscation... due to the fact he is a MINOR

Do you mean gay or grey? I believe the rules state that it's ok to be either. ;D

Cartrain π¬π§ Tate Gallery β’ Damien Hirst β’ Gilbert & George, by sogr8ful on Nov 15, 2008 17:59:37 GMT 1, From Cartrain's bio on 100 Artworks: "I find it very offensive when big companies have big adverts that make you feel small unless you buy their crap".
Now I have never commented on Cartrain's work but I do find this kind of interesting. The only reason I know of why someone would post something like "Damien Hirst obtains (insert artist's name)" would be one of two reasons.
1) They were truly proud that an artist they admire thought enough to buy/trade for their work and they wanted to brag (which is OK, IMO) or...
2) They were trying to publicize/advertise their work and create the image that someone who knows a whole lot more than the average bloke is interested in said work and that others should get on the bus or get left behind.
If its the latter, than Cartrain, you might want to rethink your stance on advertising because it seems awfully similar to "making someone feel small unless you buy their crap".

Although, not original it does take more courage to do this than put up a paste up or stencil in an area with loads of other street art.
If some school kids are now learning about Cartrain after their visit, that does give him a heads up over many other up and coming street artists!
