Thanks in advance. Seems reasonable for a signed 60 by 60 ish spot wood cut. That being said I’d prefer a few more spots for my money, but having previously been on the look out there not much out there for less than £15k with a decent number of spots in the image….

I know a few people who ended up having to get Hirst to resign - think the combo of photo type paper and black marker in sunlight was the issue. GLWTS

Given Banksy prices have fallen back down from "ridiculous" to just "silly"...I suspect the guitar is actually the most expensive piece on the wall. And I get to pick it up and wail on it - much more fun than a print on paper!

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by Love Is In The Air on Dec 28, 2022 13:49:39 GMT 1, I'm stuck on my laptop all day today supposedly working so just did a quick scout around as I was intrigued what these are worth too. Not sure how much help I will be, but that was the aim!
ABC hadn't seen one sell recently, and I think that's probably because there is not much data out there.
Most recent auction sale I can see for Lanatoside B is way back in January 2020 for 15k.
www.phillips.com/detail/damien-hirst/UK030120/164?fromSearch=damien%20hirst&searchPage=3
My Art broker now value it with the vagueness of 20-30k but dont offer any data to back this up.
www.myartbroker.com/artist-damien-hirst/collection-spots/artwork-lanatoside-b-signed-print
There is a bit more guidance for Vipera Lebetina with a Tate Ward sale in March for £23,750 all in (so perhaps 18kish hammer).
www.tateward.com/auction/lot/lot-185---damien-hirst-british-1965--vipera-lebetina-2011/?lot=12015&so=0&st=&sto=0&au=71&ef=&et=&ic=False&sd=1&pp=96&pn=2&g=1
There was also a Christies auction in July where it fared less well and pulled in $8,190. I haven't looked at any condition reports on these tbf but that is obviously quite a price difference.
onlineonly.christies.com/s/contemporary-edition/damien-hirst-b-1965-19/157150?ldp_breadcrumb=back
Should also state that I think both these prints appear to be the same size from my nosing around. Although ABC put Vipera Lebetina as a smaller print, I believe it to be sheet size 705mm x 635mm with the image size 483 x 432 mm for both, at least according to the auctions. That would make both these prints perhaps similar ballparks in price, so perhaps the two auctions this year may act as some kind of vague guide, although the Christies one looked cheap to me and Lanatoside B has brighter colours which to me would be favourable anyway.
Not sure if this will help but at least if someone was thinking of offering on Vipera Lebetina there are some sales in the last year, even if they are wildly different!

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by ABC on Dec 28, 2022 17:39:46 GMT 1, Thanks for the info, there is certainly a lot of interest. Without a run of recent sales though it's hard to gauge for sure. Some galleries have them up for 30k + which is pretty optimistic to say the least but then again very few come up nowadays.

Damien Hirst Spot Prints, by billybob1969 on Dec 29, 2022 7:51:42 GMT 1, Although there may not have been too many sales of these particular prints, plenty of spots have sold privately andat auction so with a few adjustments here and there I think these are quite straight forward to price.
Lantoside B you should get returned between £12-15k from an auction or gallery consignment sale. Market is tough at the moment so if you're in a hurry to sell privately expect lower end of the spectrum, dealers will more likely be offering around £9-10k if they're buying in.
The muted spots always struggle so the Tate Ward sale of Vipera Lebitina is an absolute anomaly and not helpful, the Christie's sale is true value. Expect £6-8k returned on this one, £4-5k is cash price from a dealer I'd say.
Any galleries pricing these at £30k are living in dreamland and won't be making a sale, purely window dressing. Trust me the galleries selling these types of secondary prints, quoting crazy prices, relying on buyers with more money than sense are doing no business right now and rightly so.

Already PMed the OP, but I was in the market for a similar sized brightly coloured Hirst etching a few months back. Whilst I agree the market is not the healthiest at the minute I really struggled to find anything available - either in a gallery or auction. Ended up paying £14k (from a dealer who’s also a mate - so a bit of discount) for an edition of 45 - 60 by 80cm - a piece I really love. Suppose the point of my post is supply and demand - unless things have changed significantly in a short period of time I very much doubt a nice low edition Hirst etching of this sort of size can be found for less than £15k (unless a gift print with a specific name added by Hirst - there are a number of these available at a slight lower pricing, but not for me); agree the muted spots probably are less popular and that may be reflected in value, but again there aren’t too many about at the minute. Would rather have any Hirst spot print or etching over the recent Heni releases anyway - just my view and I guess others will disagree. GLWTS……

GLWTS…… Fully agree on the sentiment but just because there aren't loads on the market doesn't mean too much, as unfortunately there aren't many buyers paying top dollar for prints at the moment. FYI I got offered a spot print of over 1m for $15m a few weeks back which was openly available. If the seller isn't confident enough putting a value on these he should auction them and the market will have its say.
