I'd like to sell or trade my framed Everything is Sh1t print by Steve Powers. It's from the POW edition of 100 with a cream background:
The print is in excellent condition and has been float mounted by Misterframeman in a white box frame with UV resistant glass. The framed dimensions are 59.5cm square by just under 3.5cm deep. The frame is in excellent condition and has been hung out of sunlight and away from radiators in a smoke free home.
I'm based in Surrey and would be willing to deliver if you're in the local area. Alternatively, I work in London and could bring the piece in for a face to face exchange at a London station.
I'm looking for 500GBP. I'd be happy to listen to trades but this would have to be done face to face - I don't want to post the frame. I'd be particularly interested in Faile, Eine and Steve's If You Were Here I'd Be Home Now print. I can add cash if required.
I used to be a regular on the forums and have bought, sold and traded quite a bit through here in the past. I should be able to find some references if required.

Hit songs get made into singles, hit paintings get made into prints: Mona Lisa, Starry Night, that Patrick Nagel painting of the white girl, and now "Everything Is Shit" prints are available to decorate your home or (in Patrick's case) your hair salon. The first edition of the print sold out, people asked us to make another, and we made another. Again and again we were asked and again and again we printed. We invest love and effort and we give a shit about every print we make. We've created seven unique editions to date, and all in all there are 600 or so "Everything" prints in the world. If it was a record we would be going wood as opposed to gold, but as a print it is building an audience that loves and gives a shit about what I do, so it's solid gold just the same.
So all that said, here is our latest edition, in two different colorways. The Purple edition is a 24" x 24" print in a signed and numbered edition of 50, printed on 334 gram Coventry Rag paper. it is $250 plus shipping. Email us at espoprints@gmail.com with your mailing location and we'll send you a Paypal invoice. The orange 12" x 12" edition will be released next week. I'm personally fed up of the extra editions and feel he has a strong back catalogue of imagery.I know what I'd be doing if I was the artist and getting requests.
7 editions of the same image aside, the fella is a legend on the streets and made a great impact on many many people through his murals.

If you are interested in a return on your investment, ESPO has a bunch of really cool very low # edition prints if you know where to look. He is probably pushing this one more because he had received a bunch of interest and wanted people to be aware that they are available.

I feel so sorry for those who bought the prints with dollars in their eyes. Go buy a Dolk or Martin Watson or what ever is the flavour of the day instead. They will have staying power

Stopping into Icy Signs and speaking with Steve was an awesome experience for me as a lover of this culture. I enjoy my EIS print every day and couldn't care less how many he pumps out. |

Hell yeah, could not agree more.
Been saving so I can go to the store and buy one of his paintings... Which in the grand scheme are much more affordable then many of the new flavors paintings.
It also helps that not only is ESPO a legend, but he is a humble / cool dude... Plus he is a very positive guy, which is nice when we have so much negative stuff in the world these days.

ESPO is a legend and is putting out images that people want at decent prices. If you think it is too much you can download the image and make your own with the artist's blessing.ย People b**ch about flipping, b**ch about fast sell outs, then when an artist makes a high demand image available those same people get pissed. I hope Banksy does the same and brings back old images and floods the market. It shouldn't be all about the money. I feel so sorry for those who bought the prints with dollars in their eyes. Go buy a Dolk or Martin Watson or what ever is the flavour of the day instead. They will have staying power If you get a chance to go to ESPO's store and meet the man, I'd highly recommend it. I think many of you will change your tune if you do. Learn your history. Or it could be that your fans have requested and you oblige. If he wanted it to be a cash cow he could charge a whole lot more since there is an obvious demand... We all have rent to pay and mouths to feed.

I wouldn't say lazy in the context of all the work he is doing. Prints are hardly what an artist should be judged by. He has also put out a book, has small paintings and sketches available if you want something unique but all of that is nothing compared to the street work he is doing, the sign "work" and the somewhat unique approach of having a store rather than gallery representation. There is a conceptual aspect there as well. The man is much deeper than a print artist. Think of the prints as souvenirs, I hate to burst some bubbles here but I think that is how most artists few prints. They don't tend to be a significant component of most artists practices. |

The reason you buy numbered and signed prints is because you want to be one of a few people who got this image. If they keep releasing the same image it's nothing more than a poster.

What is the difference between this edition that will push the total # to around 600 (all signed) and Banksy or Hewlett that have editions around 600 that the majority are unsigned?
Does that mean Banksy is just issuing posters? Blasphemy!!
Or the countless PP and APs (from other artists) that seem to see the light of day. Another big difference is that ESPO has a phenomenally large catalog and is not just limiting himself to Squiggles, Balaclavas, and Bandanas. Granted he is a writer, so he tends to stick with images interacting with wordplay. BUT he has dozens (if not hundreds) of painting and prints that are unique from each other.

I bought the first pow release, been framed in my bedroom since the year it was released. Had it been advertised as the first of 6 editions it would not have sold as well and he knows it.

Stopping into Icy Signs and speaking with Steve was an awesome experience for me as a lover of this culture. I enjoy my EIS print every day and couldn't care less how many he pumps out.
