Banksy Bomb Hugger Print, by danvnuk on Feb 16, 2010 19:39:48 GMT 1, Hey, long time since I've posted on here.
Work situation is looking decidedly dodgy, and there is a chance I may have to sell a couple of pieces if the worst comes to the worst.
I've not been keeping track of the scene for ages, so - any idea how much a signed BombHugger is currently worth with provenance and the POW COA?
This one in fact....
Cheers, Dan

POW Open Day • 2008, by danvnuk on Dec 9, 2008 12:45:29 GMT 1, Did they not have 3 boxes to post in and also the tickets had the name of the prnt on them. Why do all this trouble if you have to choose once you have been drawn Why did they not just put them all in one box and have one ticket. Still a little confusing at the moment. Hupster 2 boxes if i recall, Micallef on the left, Banksy on the right? then again i was a little pissed from drinking too much mulled wine
nope definately 3 boxes 2 Micallef on the Left, Banksy on the right.
What with that, and the fact you bought tickets only for the print(s) you were interested in,
I'd say that suggests you'll only get offered the print(s) you bought tickets for and not a choice of any of the editions.
Otherwise, as Hupster said- why goto all the trouble with seperate tickets and boxes.

POW Open Day • 2008, by danvnuk on Dec 7, 2008 19:37:16 GMT 1, Hmmm can't believe I queued yesterday for 2 hours on my tod - didn't see anyone I know at all until I got to right near the front, where Mammal told me I didn't need to queue anymore if I just wanted lottery tickets - didn't realise the queue was to get in POW only <slaps head>.
Luckily the three rather attractive American girls in front of me in the queue provided something to distract me, so It wasn't as bad as it could have been I guess.

POW Open Day • 2008, by danvnuk on Dec 6, 2008 20:47:49 GMT 1, Was good meeting some other Forum members in the Great Eastern Street hotel (ronhill, PUD and Grafter)!
Believe I spoke to you as well dude ;D
Nice to see some of the usual bods and have a quick drink.
- Just got in - did 10 on Bethlehem (which is Gorgeous), and 10 on the Banksy........I'm now playing Kylie Minogues 'I should be so Lucky' on a constant loop in my place, and am wearing 'Lucky Rabbits Foot' slippers - the music don't stop, and the slippers remain on until Tuesday.
24/7 Kylie Rabbit Foot action.

POW Open Day • 2008, by danvnuk on Dec 2, 2008 13:35:44 GMT 1, I'll def be heading down there one of the two days.
Undecided if I prefer the Banksy or the two Micallefs - liking em all actually.
On a completely unrelated note, I just had my first traditional Pret Xmas Turkey Sandwich of the year......oh my God - forgot how much I love them.
tastes like xmas....errr....between two slices of bread.

Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by danvnuk on Nov 20, 2008 20:47:54 GMT 1, I was on the ball with this - got the email early - was F5ing fairly reguarly....was sure it would be 3pm - no joy.
Was getting pretty hacked off by about 3-30 - I just don't have the patience anymore.....so was refreshing half heartedly from then on....
Something came up at work at 10 to 4 - dealt with that, refreshed - Sold Out - missed it completely.
Like Mike , I do like the image - but strangely, I'm not that bothered I didn'tgot one - can't really afford it anyway right now.

Banksy NOLA Print on POW, by danvnuk on Nov 20, 2008 15:29:24 GMT 1, If it really is a signed edition of 1000, for £1k - then, bearing in mind the credit crunchies (and associated possible woe) AND the fact its 5 weeks to Christmas......and Tiny Tim needs to go buy me the biggest fricking Turkey in Christendom......
I'll not be buying. <sniff>

Anyway - its nice to get forewarning for once - but I don't expect to get one seeing as the sites melted down already.

Most under-rated prints of 2008....???, by danvnuk on Nov 5, 2008 23:41:30 GMT 1, The Connor Harrington is the only print Ive bought this year, and as stated previously - is suprisingly underrated. Love mine....it's huge....
Although my GF's cousin put a bit of dent in my 'CH Love-in' with the question, "What is it? a Stormtrooper?"
Queue scream as I pushed her down the stairs.
Anyway, gives me a chance to roll out some pics - haven't done much of that this year ;D

Banksy • The Village Pet Store and Charcoal Grill, by danvnuk on Oct 10, 2008 14:37:57 GMT 1, Totally blown away by this - entirely unexpected and surreal - love it. Amazed the direction that Banksy has gone here. Just wish I could get over to NY for a look.

Friday - where have all the heros gone?, by danvnuk on Sept 5, 2008 16:50:05 GMT 1, this is getting silly, but if we can have fictional characters then Rimmers alter ego off Red Dwarf....Ace Rimmer..oh and Brian Blessed, just because he is loud
In that case - I'd like to add Lord Flashheart from Blackadder - reckon he'd be great fun.
and Jack Nicholson.

new print by antony micallef, by danvnuk on Sept 5, 2008 16:46:24 GMT 1, I like it. Although I'd have to see it close up to make definative decison (not that I have 2.5 grand to spunk on art right now anyways)
It's more or less the same view and perspective of Tower Bridge and the city you get from the Chop House in Butlers Wharf.
perhaps Micallef is also a fan of their £12-50 for 2 courses, £14 for 3 courses set menu

Friday - where have all the heros gone?, by danvnuk on Sept 5, 2008 13:35:09 GMT 1, How are any of the original list (and most of the additions) heroes? Legends, yes. Rebels, yes. Cool dudes, yes. Icons, yes. Stencil-fodder, yes. But none of them did anything remotely heroic. Come to think of it, their personas were all anti-heroes. s**t, even in the area of interest of this forum I can think of more heroic figures. Most of artistic precursors to street art were derided, ignored, and harassed. Dubuffet, Duchamp, Pollock, Rauschenberg, Stella, Warhol, Basquiat etc were far more 'heroic' than a bunch of pissed actors and singers. That said, I'd love to see another Bukowski, Miller, Hunter S - guys who are my personal heroes.
I totally agree - but its Friday so therefore my heroes are booze addled selfish hellraisers.
If you asked me any other day of the week - you'd get a different answer.

The End of The World - NEXT WEDNESDAY , by danvnuk on Sept 5, 2008 13:13:54 GMT 1, But - weighing it up.....
Exhibit A - its been reported in the Daily Mail (see first post) - so that means there'sa 90% chance it's bullshit - they rotate through stories about the end of the world/house price crashes/immigrant invasion - and repeat.
Then the EggHeads have families too - would they really risk killing them all?
The West's Governments have funded this - would they risk it if there was even the remotest chance of it destroying the planet?
but saying all that, I'm going to purchase me a crowbar to fight off inter dimensional beasties......just in case.

The End of The World - NEXT WEDNESDAY , by danvnuk on Sept 5, 2008 13:01:18 GMT 1, We've been talking about this in work - and I have come to the conclusion...that basically....
I'm too thick and uneducated to understand the theory behind this, and so therefore I cannot make a considered opinion on the pro's and con's of it.
All I know is....I don't want to be sucked inside out because some egghead got his decimal point in the wrong place.

Banksy's next print image!, by danvnuk on Sept 3, 2008 10:24:57 GMT 1, Not sure any of the latest images would translate well to print - my personal preference would be to raid the back catalogue and have a print of the kid painting "What?" in shocking pink dripping lettering.
Loved that image.

POW Authentification, by danvnuk on Aug 29, 2008 17:58:53 GMT 1, Took me less than a week to get mine done. I guess it depends how complicated that paticular piece is to authenticate, and how busy they are that week.
Don't know if it helps future 'authentees' - I sent two Hi Res pics - one general shot, and a close up of the signature and numbering.....and also a photo of the credit card statement from when I bought it.
I presume the more information you can can provide, the easier it is for them to get your COA done.

Banksy - New Orleans - Hurricane Katrina, by danvnuk on Aug 28, 2008 21:23:22 GMT 1, Looks like Obama to me. ('no loitering'- reference to get on with the clean up as soon as he gets into power?)
Pretty sure that's George Bush - the 'no loitering' being the subtle message - 'Piss off and don't be slow about it'.
