3 kinda good deals... P0bel, Charming Baker, Shep Fairey, by daveart on Mar 31, 2017 13:19:47 GMT 1, P0BEL - shipped and out the door for a quick ridiculous deal to help my forum karma .
Charming Baker - a few interesting offers - but going to let this one ride a bit longer... sure someone wants a very wall friendly beautiful charming baker at 1/2 of gallery cost !
FAILE - no nibbles -- someone should grab this before i put it back on the wall (different spots always make art look newer and cooler i think).

3 kinda good deals... P0bel, Charming Baker, Shep Fairey, by daveart on Mar 30, 2017 15:33:30 GMT 1, Moving some things about and thought maybe I would let a few items move on to a new home.. I'll give you a ridiculous price, a decent prices and a price you can argue over to hit everyone's needs.
First up - we will go with the ridiculous.
***SOLD *** #1PรBEL - HARD WORK. Remember 2007 ? - this was 70GBP at source - Handmadeposters.com - I bought this as a bit of a joke to hang in an office of a friend that was going through a divorce. It was in a cheap snap together frame for ten years.. has a bit of a wave to it.. but at this price .. you hang it and get a smile out of it every time you realize how much hard work love really is. (note i bought Dolk - I am your father - on the same order for 70 GBP - guess i should have bought two of those eh?)
PรBEL - HARD WORK 2 color silk screen print - 2007 Paper: Bakeri Everest 250 gsm Size: 70 x 50cm. P0bel - Price : $20 plus shipping. (basically buy me a sandwich and a drink and i'll ship you some art)
![](http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr90/davesart123/IMG_4412_zpsp6lg2jlm.jpg)
![](http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr90/davesart123/IMG_4413_zpsfpkcoyun.jpg)
Second - The "Decent Price" SOLD SOLD SOLD #2 Charming Baker - ONE DAY OUR PAST WILL BE ALL THERE IS TO LOOK FORWARD TO by CHARMING BAKER - released by Goodpilot - I purchased two at source and planned to frame both of them and only ended up framing one of them and leaving it in my office... the second has lived a lonely life of quiet solitude These are beautiful little prints and if you have been searching for that one charming baker your spouse will like - this is the one.
![](http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr90/davesart123/IMG_4415_zpsya6a6jdr.jpg)
![](http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr90/davesart123/IMG_4417_zps0qjiofco.jpg)
CB - ONE DAY OUR PAST WILL BE ALL THERE IS TO LOOK FORWARD TO by CHARMING BAKER 2011 Giclee Print Signed and Numbered by the artist 40 x 50 cm Edition of 125
Hangup has one currently for sale at a Tidy -- 1200 GBP .. i offer this here at the 'Decent' price of a nice just above cost and half of current gallery at round @ $1000 USD + Shipping.
Third the one you can argue over (well .. you can argue on all of these i suppose given its a forum )
#3 - Shepard Fairey - HPM on Record album. 'Stevie' - HPM 5/6
![](http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr90/davesart123/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps9e9963ea.jpg)
You all know what these are about and what they cost .. etc etc. It's not the strongest image - I listen to a lot of Jazz you see - thought it was nice - probably over paid.. whine whine whine..
Shepard FAIREY HPM - Stevie : $1500 + Shipping.
There cant be a x/6 Fairey piece on the market anywhere at that price..
NOTE : I only ask that if you purchase any of these I dont see them banging about on Ebay for a quick profit in the next few weeks. deals with new ish collectors preferred.. if you are a 3,4,or 5 star you probably dont need these.. ok.. there you go .. PM me. if you really need a better deal make an offer but I think these are about as fair as you can get..
NOTE 2 : USA based for those considering total cost with shipping..

For Sale - Banksy - Stop and Search (signed), by daveart on Mar 30, 2017 15:01:47 GMT 1, Wow the prices are a real kick to me, I sold my Nola print for less than 10% of what it's worth now ๐๐ oh well you live and learn! But the prices are great for those that have them ๐ this may be the only person left in the world that bought S&S at source and still has it on the wall... ha. i know i traded mine a few years back for an original FAILE canvas - seemed a good deal at the time - i guess had i waited another two years i could have gotten a BIGGER FAILE canvas. and we all know bigger is better right.
congrats to the OP .. great piece of art .. funny how old these really are now.. most young kids that have grown up with heightened security around them their whole lives wouldnt really appreciate the irony of it all..

Faile โข Dog Prints, All Editions , by daveart on Mar 29, 2017 14:22:25 GMT 1, If it can be restored to 100% .. i think you are good to go on price and claim the restoration cost to insurance.. if it cant be restored to 100% then its just a matter of what someone will pay. if a new collector doesnt have $3K to spend on a pristine one ..but loves the image .. what would they pay to have one that has a few creases.. half ? depends on where the creases are.. how apparent they are .etc.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by daveart on Mar 23, 2017 16:46:43 GMT 1, Rodgo - did i miss something - do you know that the seller 'got as many as he could' ?
anyway, I think this debate should go in a different thread. The forum has a sales section - lets let the sales play out. Whether or not the OP bought a few of these or not did not in any way impact Fairey, or his campaign to raise money. and there is no way to predict that if this person didnt buy it that another persoon would have and hold onto it for years into the future. some percentage of prints get resold in 3 days, 3 weeks, 3 months, 3 years.. meh. so, l hear what you are saying - but - i think the point has been made and doesnt need to fully disrupt the effort to sell some nice art.

For Sale:Fairey-We the People,Whatson,Mr Brainwash,OS GEMEOS,Invader & MORE, by daveart on Mar 23, 2017 14:15:59 GMT 1, Some really nice stuff there.. welcome to the forum - Don't get put off by all the comments on price. As they are yours - price them where you want them. I always assume any price put on here is a starting point for discussion anyway..
At least you provided good details, good pictures, and a starting price.
I rate this a very solid sales thread.

Japanese Artists , by daveart on Mar 23, 2017 14:02:52 GMT 1, Not knowing the OP's budget, tastes, age, etc its been cool to see some of the recommendations. I'll throw another on the list.
Audrey Kawasaki
She doesnt seem to get much love on this forum - but - She is certainly an important artist from the perspective of her early adoption of using technology to go straight to customers - she used blogs and website very early on etc. She has created a large and loyal fan base. Her artwork is very good whether you like the style or not.. She probably does just enough outdoor work to classify her as a contemporary urban artists although i doubt she is ever painting illegally but does paid walls, etc.
stolen from the first web page i found on wikipedia - "Audrey Kawasaki is a Los Angeles-based painter, known for her distinctive, erotically charged portrayals of young, adolescent women. Her works are oil paintings painted directly onto wood panels, and her style has been described as a fusion of Art Nouveau and Japanese manga, with primary influences like Gustav Klimt"
lastly she does everything from open editions to low editions to originals so if you like her work you can get in at almost any price point.
much of her work - as stated in the wiki page is "erotically charged portrayals of young, adolescent women" ...sooo.. not everyone can hang that type of work.. but .. as i mentioned above - dont know your tastes, age, etc ..
enjoy.

Banksy in Palestine ๐ต๐ธ, by daveart on Mar 21, 2017 14:10:29 GMT 1, interesting thread and congratulations to all who have participated without for the most part letting this degrade too far..
anyone ever see this article about the Plensa scupltures. Sculptures made with letters that form a human outline. Unfortunately in at least one sculpture the letters can form words - incredibly (to me) the artist representative stuck to the story that this was a complete random happening. We have a large Plensa sculpture in our town. I love it .. It is very hard to find words .. i find it hard to believe this was accidental but I suppose we will never really know the truth of it all.. I believe the city had the sculpture modified by the artist but i couldn't find any articles stating as much in the 30 seconds i looked. As much as i like to think artists are all about the common good it would be naive to think artists dont have social agendas just like everyone else in the world. to the OP .. i think there is plenty of art created in support of many causes - womens causes, save the planet, water, pets, you name it. i think you are a bit overly fixated on this cause but respect that you wanted to discuss it..
is this random ? you decide... just copying in the first few links i found.. i am sure there are more ..
i used a URL shortener.. just copy paste this into your browser.

Faile solo show @magda gallery Paris, by daveart on Mar 14, 2017 14:27:20 GMT 1, I am such a simpleton. When I see art I like I say something like "Holy $hit that's really cool" .. I have followed FAILE for maybe ten years or so and i have never thought these words
"FAILE excels in pluridisciplinarity."
That aside. I like these. They are aesthetically pleasing. They are wall safe. Wife safe. Living room safe. but.. dang.. i want ..umm.. something that makes me think - "Holy $hit that's really cool" .. the Dogs, Happens Every Day, FAILE Girl, many others just seem more ..ummm... memorable ? Being a simpleton I dont know how to express this very well.. Are they growing up ? is this the maturing of the FAILE artwork ?
anyone? help? anyone out there?

What was the Damage?, by daveart on Feb 21, 2017 22:23:30 GMT 1, if you put a bunch of old holiday paper in a tube and shipped around the world without insurance it would arrive successfully on time. you put a $3500 print in a tube and overnight it 500 miles and they somehow smash the f'er into a pancake. its just cruel.. shipping art is the absolute worst part of this whole obsession.

What was the Damage?, by daveart on Feb 21, 2017 22:12:27 GMT 1, I submit my recent 'crate' that showed up for your review. if you look closely you will spot the damage. note. this is exactly as it showed in up in my office - well - ( minus the broken frame which i had already removed before this picture) note if anyone on here was involved in this transaction - no worries - long past - just posting for the fun of it - a little inspection on this and you could see where the fork lift trucks crashed through the crate and into the frame. luckily - the frame and plexi did their jobs and sacrificed their lives to protected the art. you buy and sell enough art and these things will happen .. still doesnt protect you from the abosolute shock of seeing something like this coming down the hallway...

Yayoi Kusama ๐ฏ๐ต Pumpkins โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by daveart on Feb 19, 2017 22:42:23 GMT 1, Print Cave - the point I was trying to make was that if you WANT to buy them - dont get ripped off by a gallery or auction. if people are bidding these up to $1300 a pair + fees then obviously some people havent done their homework. To your point though, yes, they are basically an expensive collectable paperweight.
For those looking for something with a bit more 'wow' power... warm up that credit card for some of these. You will see that exclusivity comes with a price in the Kusama world... which is why, for me, the 'resin paper weight in a fancy box' was just perfect

![](http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr90/davesart123/kusama_limited_pumpkins_zpsd1jbo5ya.png)
Now you all have the painted resin paperweight, the limited edition, and the original price range to choose from. Enjoy!

Yayoi Kusama ๐ฏ๐ต Pumpkins โข Show News โข Art For Sale, by daveart on Feb 19, 2017 15:42:19 GMT 1, Hi all, thought I would share with you a nice way to get in on a Yayoi Kusama collectable. All information is as gathered by me and please feel free to add information or suggest corrections if I miss something.
A while back I noticed some small Kusama pumpkins showing up in auctions. I was interested as most Kusama pieces are very pricey and these were oddly affordable at $1200-1400 for two pumpkins. Artsy, artnet, paddle8 I believe all had one or more pass through. Currently Artsy has a set on auction through Julians - Image #1 - I took images rather than linking as the link would go away when the auction ends.

These are pretty neat right! And a reasonable price point given the artist and price of other limited edition works. Well, being intrigued I wanted a few but wanted to know more. So, off to Ebay, where there are dozens for sale at various prices and many well below the auction and gallery prices - which made me all the more curious. So, where are these coming from? After some digging it turns out the auction houses and Ebay sellers are auctioning off a product that is still readily available at the source - and is an open edition.

![](http://i472.photobucket.com/albums/rr90/davesart123/lammfromm_Store_japan_zpslzlvoblf.png)
Price at source works out to : $210 USD ..
I contacted the store about this. They were a bit slow in responding but then I did send them an email in English and they are in Japan .so seems fair enough. At one point the yellow was not available - so I thought maybe they were out of stock and that was why the price was climbing at auction. But then, I received this email. Here is there response.
"Dear David, Thank you for your shopping at lammfromm The Concept Store. The yellow Pumpkin Objects are available now. These Pumpkins are made under the instructions by Yayoi Kusama. The production amount is unlimited.
Thank you again. Regards,
Atsushi lammfromm The Concept Store"
So, I pass along to the forum #1 - these are pretty nice and look great ( i purchased a pair for myself and gave a few away as gifts over the holidays). The shipping price was fair and they arrived quickly in good order. #2 - do not get sucked in on the auctions.. they are just wasting their money #3 As of today Feb 19, 2017 - still available at source.
And my set as displayed ..

note that I have also seen early versions of these pumpkins in a blue box. I have tried to get more information on that but from what I can tell it is the same edition of pumpkin in different packaging - no need to pay premium for a blue box in my opinion.
so, if you cant visit the Hirshorn - and don't have $800,000 for a nice original - you might save some of your budget for these little collectibles.
-David

Forum member trying to scam me through paypal, by daveart on Feb 17, 2017 15:56:35 GMT 1, Shipping art is the absolute worst part of this whole obsession. i have had two of the last five shipments arrive damaged. And have others have stated .. your 'insurance' is basically worthless. For FedEx what I have found - but not yet tried - is that if THEY package the item in their FedEx Office location then the insurance can be increased to full value. however, the cost of their packaging and cost of the insurance would surely give you pause on a < $500 item. obviously if you are shipping a $5000 item you have a lot more leeway and responsibility in the packaging. sorry about your bad experience and this is a good reminder for all sellers that you are in control .. not the buyer.. if you agree to the buyers terms .. you are really at a disadvantage.

Mr Brainwash Mondriart green, by daveart on Feb 16, 2017 16:54:19 GMT 1, Come on at least a "nice to meet you" and a Gin&Tonic before you expect us to put out selling a brainwash print is the new 'black dress' as a first post on the forum dont you know.
Actually, I have developed a bit of a thing for the urban art disruptions of more famous pieces. Borf probably did it best ?

D*Face Pop Tart Print, by daveart on Feb 15, 2017 14:50:26 GMT 1, very nice pop tart - seems like a fair price - shocking that 10 years has gone by since these were released..
However, one questions MissyParrot - my blue/green pop tart is numbered out of 35 and your post says numbered out of 16... curious what that might be about. were there two releases of this ? maybe post the size and picture of the edition # ?

FOR SALE "PUPPY LOVE" - DOLK 2005 FOR SALE, by daveart on Feb 14, 2017 20:49:48 GMT 1, probably a good reminder for all sales .... once you take someone's money you have to realize their expectations for communication and prompt responses are pretty high.
Agree with Dappy though ... the deleted posts and going dark for a few days during a sale is odd. -- stay on top of things and hope for the best. Let us all know how it turns out.

FOR SALE "PUPPY LOVE" - DOLK 2005 FOR SALE, by daveart on Feb 14, 2017 15:32:04 GMT 1, My apologizes for putting up his name here. Hman - sorry if i gave you bad advice. This response from the forum gaurdians seems odd.. i am sure there have been other threads where people have sought advice from the forum on dealings gone bad.. you could for sure leave their forum name on here.. not going to dig around in old sales threads that have problems but seems the forum members have a right to seek advice on bad dealings? good luck with this.

List of significant Artists, by daveart on Feb 13, 2017 14:57:59 GMT 1, Something you might find interesting. It doesnt answer your question at all .. just .. might be worth looking at.. Artnet has a list of all of the artists cataloged in their system. On a somewhat hard to find page you can see the artists that are getting the most searches. I cannot say how accurate or relevant this is.. but i have checked it over many years and it is interesting to spot trends and see who is climbing and who is falling. -sometimes quite surprising information -
so, since you say "significant" - does that mean 'popular' 'getting the most attention' 'highest prices at auction ' 'most artistic merit' .. anyway, this list could give insight into the artists generating the most traffic on one of the largest online art databases... i bet if you look at it you will be surprised by at least some of the information.

FOR SALE "PUPPY LOVE" - DOLK 2005 FOR SALE, by daveart on Feb 12, 2017 19:02:54 GMT 1, hman - Maybe some mistakes were made on the buying side but that does not excuse "CRIME" on the selling side. Post the information you have on the seller - his profile name here - whatever you have - and see if the forum can help root him out... or at least document the terrible dealings with that seller and warn other potential victims... Always the possibility the seller went dark for a period but will pop back up to explain themselves... dont give up too easily..

Shepard Fairey Print, Canvas, WANTED, by daveart on Feb 4, 2017 15:07:16 GMT 1, You're still mixing them up and make no distinction between signed unnumbered offsets and signed and numbered screen prints. Careful buddy. I provided the actual links to the information from source! so, like, uhh.. Educate me.. i'm not afraid of being wrong. I just bought the unsigned edition on the kickstarter site for $120 .. so, how can i be too far off on that first point?
second point - on the signed - so many editions and so many weird and misleading sales ads on Ebay - maybe i am missing somethingl so, like i said.. if someone has the 18*24 -signed- edition 450 set for sale they will know what to do.. if they want to sell for more they wont contact me. not sure what i need to be careful on? anyway, open to your input.

Shepard Fairey Print, Canvas, WANTED, by daveart on Feb 4, 2017 14:48:14 GMT 1, $950 for a set of signed and numbered (edition of 450) 18x24 screen prints? Lol. I hate to crush your hopes, but these sets are going for $3000+! I think you're mixing them up with the signed, but unnumbered 24x36 offsets, which would explain why you see all over the place prices. Hey Tranito - not looking for a debate - but just to be clear so people dont get screwed by the flippers on this information you provided...
1. As of Feb 4th -- The unsigned edition are still available at source for the initial cost -- That some people are flipping these unsigned prints online for large sums of money and basically making money on a charity is ..odd..but their choice. but if people want an unsigned set.. buy them for $120 here. (as i did already) amplifierfoundation.bigcartel.com/product/all-5-we-the-people-lithographs-by-shepard-ernesto-and-jessica
2. There are certainly some signed sets "FOR SALE" at $3000. but that doesnt mean they are selling at that price. In fact a quick check of the Ebay "completed sales" list shows that a good number have sold under $1,000.. (and to be fair ..some higher than $1000) my thought is the hype dies down over the coming weeks and $1000 for a set seems reasonable. time will tell... which is why i made the post. a whole lot of fairey edition 450 prints sell in the $300-$400 range. so, time will tell on these. Anyway, i assume anyone with a set for sale can make up their own decision.
Anyway, I hope that clears up any questions for other people that may read this thread. It is a bit confusing with an unsigned open edition, a signed limited edition, and a signed limited edition large size.
all the information on the original source is still available online:
my apologies if i have made any mistakes here.. just rushing through this on my way to other things.
