Coach I think that was Dotmasters. I could be wrong though.

I don't think so dibbs. It was like a rennaisance painting of a woman, lying on the bags of rubbish. Can't for the life of me remember who did it. Was just wondering if it was this chap. The paintings in this thread are smashing.

I took the liberty of saving the pics and zooming in. From what I can see, the technique looks very good indeed, imo.

delete, by 11 on Jul 13, 2015 18:16:23 GMT 1, I think that is what makes him unique - classical painting of old masters in a derelict setting. Definitely painted on the walls and stunning work. Question is how long he'd need if it was an illegal wall I vaguely remember the piece you refer to Coach and it definitely wasn't a Dotmasters Art is Trash piece but can't for the life of me remember where or who it was (could well have been the same guy)

Hopefully some work is released soon as I would like to get my hands on some.

No offense, but the photo you posted is the opposite of "plenty of detail." I went on his website, and found the same to be true (and they're higher quality, not potato IG quality). The concept is cool, but technically, it looks pretty run of the mill to me.

Have you seen any of these works in person?

They come from different parts of Ireland Northern and Southern. I think Fintans work is a little less classical and touching on modern elements with a classical feel and using props and frames, like Enerst Zach has done outside. This however has elements of Carravagio or Bacchus about it in style. Just my opinion for what is worth.

This however has elements of Carravagio or Bacchus about it in style. Just my opinion for what is worth. Fintan stopped posting on FB, Twitter, Flickr etc in 2014. Dropped off the radar completely. The management and initial show was PR'd to death, quite a cynical and managed introduction. Ted Pimm comes out of nowhere a year later. No history, no flickr, no street work, zero studio work. 5 pieces to his name produced in isolation on walls that no one anywhere has ever seen or documented. Work of that quality, there'd be a long history of how he got there. Art school, friends, a history of liking street art/graf etc, sketches, studio work. And it's said he painted these over a period of 6 years !!! what, and no one found them, and there wasn't any stylistic change in that period, and the lighting was the same for each shot. lol. I smell a rat managed by a cynical "manager" trying to play the scene.
Also Chriswoods, you seem to have registered on the Banksy Forum the same day as the post was made on SAN. Are you the manager maybe ?
None of this detracts from the actual technical side of the work, which I love. But how it's been introduced, wow. Ever felt like you've been played ?

Interesting post Nu. They are, imo, beautiful paintings. Regarding Ted, hope you are not right, but you may well be. I for one am interested to see how this develops. Regarding Fintan, I still have a fabulous study by him hanging in my sitting room. One if my favorite pieces. I think he is extremely talented. I hope he comes back with some new exciting work

Have spoken with Fintan in the past and he was a super pleasent and cool guy to deal with. But yeah, the "these were produced across the USA and Europe over the last 6 years" is pretty hard to swallow.
