Help frame a rat, by mouser on Dec 19, 2011 23:31:04 GMT 1, Its a small print Five, so needs a bit of size / setting to do it justice, and personally find colour matched mounts rather.... tacky. Simple black and white lets the red spray stand out, uses the contrast of the black mount as the paper is yellowish rather than white, so very tricky to get a good match in different light conditions. But then again I dont have a education in graphic design.
Maybe a matched red spacer similar to R@T's copper? Personally very happy with mine, but each to their own.

: a snowboard jacket, by mouser on Dec 14, 2011 23:42:39 GMT 1, Whilst on jackets , can anyone sort out good deals on berghaus? Looking for a new 3 layer gore tex walking jacket?
Check cotswolds online, they have some cracking deals, I got a 3 layer northface down from 240 to 110 a few weeks back, always had some great pieces for low prices through them ( I'm in no way associated, but happy to recomend)

Banksy • Napalm Print, by mouser on Dec 12, 2011 3:16:54 GMT 1, One is a satirical reworking of an iconic and globally recognised image of social struggle, the other looks like the lead singer of iron maiden in drag.
Napalm every time for me.

Signed RC @ Chrisities, by mouser on Dec 7, 2011 20:25:14 GMT 1, I thought R@t's one was unsigned? It is unsigned... better hand finishing on his though imo. Not sure it make all that much difference a hand finished being unsigned? Plenty of canvas works are unsigned. it does if people are trying to compare them like for like, as does the condition of both pieces.

The Outsiders | 12 Days Of Xmas, by mouser on Dec 7, 2011 4:14:01 GMT 1, Good greif, its hardly the end of the world, does it really warrant 7 pages?
I'd be just as interested to hear who reports profits made on selling prints on ebay to the tax man etc.....
How many of those who are up in arms about this actually bought or intended to buy one of these prints?
Write a letter of complaint to the Daily Mail and get on with living your life.
i know I've not bought anything through Laz for a while, but do know that I have been charged VAT on top of sale prices on some original / new pieces.

New Mau Mau print soon..., by mouser on Dec 5, 2011 20:05:15 GMT 1, People really buy some Mau Mau to flip? Can't be very lucrative. I sold a Whack Ronald for £550 and a Mermaid for £375, not bad considering they cost be £75 each, wish I'd kept the Whack Ronald now though looking back.
I was selling 2 originals ( money bees and velvet bees canvases)for less than that and didnt get a sniff, good work.

Gift Prints - What do you think?, by mouser on Dec 3, 2011 2:29:36 GMT 1, I have a signed banksy gift print with a lovely email from Dora confirming the authenticity / back story and explaining why it couldn't be granted a COA, so to me its as good as it gets for a nod, the person who swaped it to me for an unsigned print with COA was just as happy ro receive what they considered a less "problematic" print.
As for cost? I dont know, its skirting the whole backdoor boundary for being outwith the original recognised edition and potentially open to abuse ( whats to stop me faking the sig on some backdoors and say they were gift prints etc....) It'd need to come with some cast iron provenance to be able to hold its own.

Banksy Grin Reaper Print, by mouser on Nov 30, 2011 20:23:55 GMT 1, Another one of those prints where buyers and sellers have 2 different ideas on prices, mine is on the wall, so not going anywhere, but would think these are about £4.5K ( well down on the hey-day prices of 7 and 8K), how much were you looking to spend?

WANTED: BANKSY ORIGINAL (NO DEALERS PLEASE), by mouser on Nov 17, 2011 17:08:13 GMT 1, Just to play devil's advocate, why would someone go to you if they wished to sell rather than a recognised dealer with a much wider range of customers and connections? A rather vague request of "I dont know what I am looking for but will know it when I see it " isnt too inspirational to prospective seller.
Good luck with your hunt though.

Want to Buy- Love Rat Signed, Radar Rat, by mouser on Nov 15, 2011 20:23:31 GMT 1, £6k for a signed Love Rat? Are they really fetching that much? I would have thought someone would have been in contact by now!?
They were happily seeing 5k+ 2 years ago, I lost out on several at 5k before finally finding one in 2009, so guess that 6K is reasonable now, as they appear to be rock hard to find, classic banksy rat and wall / girlfriend friendly, covers most bases.
LOL- beaten to it bu esciff, good luck with the hunt.

Fragments of Faile - Lazarides London - 3rd Nov, by mouser on Nov 6, 2011 21:15:46 GMT 1, Meh, people like moaning, if it was old style faile, they'd moan it was nothing new, if its new faile, they'd moan it wasn't old style, if laz sold the print for £500, it'd be too expensive, or alienating people who couldn't go to the show.
Similar line in bollocks starting with the expected banksy release.... if any of these things really wind you up enough, just step back and remind yourself that no-one is forcing you to go to shows, like artists work, buy prints etc... If your life truly is being ruined by a negative reaction to an art show, be thankfull that's the worst of your worries, and mabye put some thought into a new hobby?
I'm not a big fan of BMW cars but really dont feel the need to sit on BMW forums and constantly tell people how rubbish the cars and dealers are.

WTB: Fragments of Faile (Part One) SIGNED, by mouser on Nov 3, 2011 23:23:57 GMT 1, I know it's a long shot but I'll try anyway... I didn't own any Faile (mostly because I can't afford any of the latest Faile prints... ) and this would be my first one so... I really like it, if anyone was lucky to grab one of the signed but now has second thoughts, doesn't like the new Faile style or whatever... please PM me! you'll make me happy. "part one" is my favourite... but I can also think about "part two". PM ME! thanks! Or just buy the unsigned versions from "the outsiders" at £45 each, they'll look quite stylish framed up methinks.

Banksy 2010, by mouser on Nov 2, 2011 1:52:21 GMT 1, POW will do what ever they fancy and no matter how the prints are sold, they will sell out, some people will be overjoyed, others will be gutted, some will go up for sale instantly, some will go up for sale a few weeks later.
One or 2 might even be framed.
No matter what it'll be frustrating.

FS signed GWB and OG Banksys, by mouser on Oct 30, 2011 1:22:04 GMT 1, Not sure exactly what Joe is accused of, other than either selling something he has bought from someone else, or selling something to someone else?
Its all rather complicated and not making much sense at the moment, generally once you have sold something to someone, its theirs to do with as they please.
Where did the first post about joevalentino go?

Your latest Art Purchase?, by mouser on Oct 26, 2011 23:35:32 GMT 1, When looking for round framed in the past, the best option i found was antique mirrors from antique shops, house clearers and auction houses. Have a good look about and leave your requirements and details with them, they are often very helpfull in keeping their eyes open and sometimes even sourcing for you.
Thats the tricky part, then get it to your framer and they can do the rest with a modicum of bandsaw action.
