21st Century Love For Sale, by mouser on Jan 26, 2012 23:03:20 GMT 1, Congratulations on the impending arrival, I sold my 21stC about the same time as we were expecting our wee one.... and miss it ( even though the wee one loves her cot etc... its just not the same). An asking / starting price might be usefull Sam, has it been / is it framed? was it bought primary through eyestorm or on their secondary market service?

For Sale: ADDICT Catalogues // Volume1 and Vol 2 // £30, by mouser on Jan 24, 2012 0:19:19 GMT 1, Any ADDICT fans on here then?
Yup, got alot of older addict clothing, not sure if I'd go so far as saying I was a "fan", still favour their cut to alot of brands.

Prints and smoking, by mouser on Jan 23, 2012 23:42:49 GMT 1, Whilst we are on the subject of framing for hostile conditions, anyone got any advice for framing a piece for a bathroom?
Our loo is a bit bare and would like something up in it, but get the heebies thinking about a print going mouldy etc. It doesnt get too steamy in there, no damp issues etc, but wonder how a framed piece would react to being placed in that environment?
i have a couple of framed invasion kits in there at the mo, but would like something bigger, would a canvas be a better option as it'd be able to "breathe" rather than a print closed up in a frame?
Any advice welcome,
( neither of us smoke on the crapper, so smoke damage isnt an issue )

Banksy - GWB, by mouser on Jan 23, 2012 5:15:55 GMT 1, Nothing was ever mentioned about them being an "art theif", but when the only indication you have on ebay is someones feeback, a less than impecable 100% would have me worried when handing over several grand to a complete stranger. I'm not bidding on the piece, but on principle, private auctions and poor feedback make me nervous of sellers. well like I said, it was a jamie oliver dvd, and paypal's got your back anyhow...
and as I said, private auctions and bad feedback get me nervous of sellers, we can agree to disagree, as I prefer to buy from folk I know are not shill bidding, hiding anything or known to have poor feedback ( not saying they are shilling or hiding anything, but no way to know with private bidding). Maybe I'm overcautious, but rather that than ignoring the potential warning signs. There are enough warning tales on here regarding paypal that, even though i use them from time to time, I dont believe they "have my back".
Anyhow, its all just personal opinion.

I've been offered a gift print, by mouser on Jan 21, 2012 22:52:16 GMT 1, Having been scammed in the past with a signed stamped print, bought with recipts etc ( before PC was set up), I agree with manty, that a good gift print with verifiable story will hold its own with time, they will never be worth the same as the recognised edition, but were never ment to be sold on in the first place, so rightly so. There is a grey area that is open to exploitation by the unscrupulous, but that is the same for all prints. It'd be more sensible for a faker to create a signed, stamped piece with corresponding faked COA and risk not raising any questions than trying to pass off a gift as anything other than that, why try to fake a questionable print?

I've been offered a gift print, by mouser on Jan 20, 2012 22:50:37 GMT 1, I have one framed on my wall, came with full email trail from POW confirming it, but unable to supply COA for obvious reasons. I like it, know its kosher and looks good in a frame, didnt spend alot on it, but sits fine with me, due to having the confirmation. A great way of picking up a print for the wall, rather crap as a sellable comodity if its being bought to sell on.

For Sale- Micallef GIWTBB £250 sold, by mouser on Jan 20, 2012 2:37:44 GMT 1, Yup, the bigger ones from becoming animal are still a bit more, but the small 21/30cm heads still sit between £2K and £3K from the last few i have seen advertised about, 21st C love and dirty delux seem to sit in the same price bracket ( which is a shame as I'd love to get me hands on a 21st C)

For Sale- Micallef GIWTBB £250 sold, by mouser on Jan 20, 2012 2:05:40 GMT 1, Seems very fair, I just looked at ebay and it seems at Christmas a couple went for close to £400. Although one didn't sell at £299 to counter that. I'm gonna have to get me a Mic head at some point. What prices are ogs?. Not that I could even afford to buy your print ;-).
The head studies were down to about £2K for a while, good price for micallef Og's (cheaper than some of the prints).

Artist stars, by mouser on Jan 18, 2012 2:17:01 GMT 1, Unsure as to why artists need to be graded at all, as different people like different things and artists work varies greatly in style, content and ability.
Maybe it'd be more suitable just find some way of highlighting members / artists without trying to "quantify" them.
Why would somebody want to "grade" and artist?
There is a positive mentality here where artists are to be encouraged, with several threads I have read been chastised for expressing a negative opinion on an artists output. I'd argue that assigning a grade to and artists is a very similar thing, bracketing an artists work as "less" than anothers due to an unquantifiable opinionated grading system.
IMO.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by mouser on Jan 16, 2012 22:54:43 GMT 1, You dont really notice how off white they are until they are set against a white backing, they are all about the same, as are alot of the older prints, the rats are very noticable in their non-white-ness.

HELP NEEDED HELP NEEDED HELP NEEDED, by mouser on Jan 15, 2012 19:57:19 GMT 1, mau mau - mermaid Swoon - cant mind the name but one of the early tall prints is about that size. Nicely framed baglione - think volvic was selling one.
Framed up dface - street improvments.
framed up grin reaper? slightly wide and short, but would bulk out with frame.

Banksy Flying Copper Print, by mouser on Jan 14, 2012 22:30:01 GMT 1, Thought the last few had gone for about £1700, but may have been a while since i paid alot of attention, a beautiful classic banksy though and nicely intimidating when framed up propper.
