Obey - info on forthcoming work, by sgolby on Jan 30, 2015 21:16:22 GMT 1, I not seen much of his that would make my walls.... I have a few of his prints up. But usually I'll buy them and sell them six months to a year later. Cheap prints and a large fan base makes for an easy profit. I have them all in a big itoya portfolio.... makes for a kickass coffee table book....

Laz Emporium โข Steve Lazarides , by sgolby on Jan 27, 2015 18:12:28 GMT 1, This is interesting !! What are these? Backdoor prints, or from the unsigned editions? "The gallerist has uncovered a vast collection of unsigned prints that he sold to a secondhand furniture dealer on Brick Lane in the early days of Banksyโs career. The works were still in the packing Lazarides has presented them in. He brokered a deal to have access to this archive. Although unsigned, the works still have strong authenticity for Lazaridesโs involvement and his relationship to Banksy. The gallerist also intends to find a way of releasing some of the unsigned prints on the market" Was wondering the exact same thing. S

Mr Brainwash - a **** or genius, by sgolby on Jan 11, 2015 12:43:46 GMT 1, MBW is to Art what MTV is to music.... Higly stylized, absolutely commercial, devoid of integrity, formulaic in its construction, and easily digestible...
I wouldn't say he is a genius, however he is quite savy, and figured out how to monetize garbage images purely based on his brand... A brand which was created by Mr B & co.... Whether intentionally or not...

Everybody okay in paris?, by sgolby on Jan 10, 2015 13:56:16 GMT 1, Are the perpetrators of these horrendous attacks victims too? What could drive such hatred into people that they can rationalise behavior which is so abhorrent to most people, including me? What could cause someone to fly a plane into a building? to cut short their lives and deprive their families of the comfort that environment brings? Need to work that one out first.....
I doubt it although some disenfranchised and low achievers could be recruited and encouraged or brainwashed in some ways to blame the country they are living in for the own lack of identity.
Most people I know are against collatorel damage and inncocent people and children killed in the name of war across the world but would never think of killing people as revenge.
What many in the west didn't realise was that the USA is very eager to carry out regime change and war or military action on europes neighbouring continent with few repercussions of tens of thousands of asylum seekers and refugees landing on the coast of the USA.
The refugees and immigrants land in europe.
They come from a different culture and background and do not see us as the same as they are.
They are used to conflict and war in their own countries that were invaded or fled from and see no borders or a line that once crossed says they cannot carry on the fight in europe.
Who is to blame for this situation today.
The politicians of course. Todays and of decades past.
Ploppi, while i do not disagree with you about the US and the effect that it's misguided poolicies and warmongering have had, to ignore the effects of European colonisation of the middle east and Africa is nonsense. At the end of world war 2 Britain and France began the slow withdrawl From the middle east and Africa. Along with other western countries, in countries withf strategic economic interest we imposed or supported royal or tyrannical rule, leading to the disenfranchisement of millions. In countries without these interests, tribes were cobbled together and left to fight for power amongst themselves. The most obvious of this is the tribal fight between the zionists and palestinians over israel or palestine dependin in which side one supports. This was the beginnig... From there we can discuss the many recent atrocities commited by my country, the US. howeer do not be dishonest and ignore the actions of other European governements from the 40s thru today...

Everybody okay in paris?, by sgolby on Jan 9, 2015 20:18:45 GMT 1, Anonymous are getting involved, intend to close accounts on social networks related to terrorists This is the best news i have heard all day....
on a separate note. I am not happy that these two pieces of scum were killed. Inwould have much preferred that they were captured alive, and that they were put on trial. That their character would have been put on trial. That they were exposed for the sinners they were to their religion.
they have now become martyrs. They are now heroes. Would it not have been better to show the people who might be inspired by the pieces of shit fir who and what they really were?? That they were not true believers, but rather blasfemers in their actions, and that they would not be givin seven virgins in heaven on this day!?!?!?!?
Now they have won. Many out there want to kill these people... Do you not reealize that death by our hands is the highest honor they can achieve in their perverted world view??? When they struck down the tower we sought bloody vengance and murdered thousands if innocents in the process in iraq, and allowed afghanistan to return to the middle ages... And in so doing helped create a reality where for these people death was imminent so why not die while carrying out Jihad???
When will we understand that death by our hands is what they want!!!!!!!! Exposing them for the inhumane creatures of the devil that they are is the only way we can begin to fix this problem!!!!!!

Charlie Hebdo shooting in Paris, by sgolby on Jan 9, 2015 9:19:09 GMT 1, Bone, this is a religious problem in general.ย ABSOLUTELY NOT LINKED TO ONE RELIGION.ย Spend some time in the bible belt of the US and tell me that Christians do not have the same potential to kill in the name of their lord as Muslims.ย Remember Hitler.ย Please if you want to continue to be ignorant and blame Islam feel free.ย However I believe it is more disrespectful to have a gut reaction as you are having right now, and not having the intelligence or patience to examine history nor the courage and stamina to address the real problem. I am not making excuses, I simply refuse to condemn an entire populace for the actions of some, when the history of my country and it's dominant religion is also painted with the blood of fanatics, both religious and not. ย ย I have spent lots of time in the bible belt, I'm from the US.ย Although there are whack jobs that live in the bible belt, there threat is nothing compared to what is faced by terrorist organizations that kill in the name of Allah all across the world.ย If you think for one second that any current threat from Christians living in the bible belt is a fraction of the threat from fanatic Muslims you are wrong. ย I'm not having a gut reaction, look at the amount of issues around the globe at this time that involve radical Islam .ย I'm not painting an entire religion as good or bad, but you can't deny the fact that they have a proportionally higher percentage of murderous pain in the ass rage then any other religion at the moment.ย Bringing up Hitler has nothing to do with what is going on at the moment and look at how the world turned on him. ย
Bone, please do not confuse me saying potential to kill with live threat. This is a terribly complex issue which i have been wrestling with since before september 12th. What i am trying to ge at is that if you see this as a "muslim" problem you miss the point.
The fact is religion requires you to subscribe to a set of rules. When these rules or laws exist in a vacuum they can be twisted to brainwash people into believing that the word of god is to kill in the name of god. The crusades for example were exactly this.
Further, when you say it is a muslim problem you risk further missing the point that there are myriad political and socio-economic issues which lead to radicalization. Many of these problems were caused by the west as we sought to install strongmen in order to maintain "stability," for our own economic gain, and we turned a blind eye until their people came and attacked us for what they percieved was our role in their plight.
Does islam have a higher proportion of violent radicals? Yes. However is it BECAUSE of islam? Certainly not. It is because of the proliferation of radical eeligious leaders brainwashing youth. The lack of other or systems of education. The lack of economic persecution. The lack of anything good in this life which leads them to seek the next. The list goes on and on.
Hitler sought to erradicate everyone who didn't fall in line with his worldview. The rise of naziism is 100% a valid study. Not jist in the way youth can be radicalized but how polarions of otherwise moderate people can be silenced when faced with atrocities from within. My point is, it is not islam, it is people.

Everybody okay in paris?, by sgolby on Jan 8, 2015 2:09:52 GMT 1, Agree. Ultimately the problem will never be completely resolved unless it comes from within(the ~1.6billion Muslims). Radicals need to be marginalized/ostracized and removed from positions of power/education/leadership by fellow Muslims. Until that happens it will remain ugly IMO. It's such a huge and complex problem and solution I don't think I can do little but scratch the surface with some observations: - media, we need an impartial independent media that's not forcing a narrow worldview on the people - international policy from the western countries that's not based on our needs, thats based on helping where helps needed - help to strengthen the general populates voice in countries, invest in education, housing, infrastructure, listen to religious leaders understand what's needed and help impartially. - do not impose our will on people's ways - no solution can be summed in a 5 min news clip, it will take years and years and years and money lots of money - help to protect people wherever they need it, train their police, their army, do this without agenda but for their betterment solely - base policy on research, talk to experts, do not react but act proactively -do not base solutions around political lifespans Thank thank you for starting...
