Mr. Dob Murakami ComplexCon, by damo on Nov 10, 2016 12:49:58 GMT 1, Just got message from complexconshop@gmail.com Thank you for your recent order. At this time our Billing Department is requiring extra verification of your order. Please provide a copy of your identification card, the card used for the order, and please confirm the billing address and the shipping address are correct for this order. Please feel free to contact us with any questions. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Wondering how they got tha fact that I bought something. What a shame. I've had same note from an 'Ashton Canada'. Does anyone know what is going on with them? Presume its a phishing message but it must be result of a hack to know we'd ordered anything?

Conor Harrington - Hide and Seek, by damo on Nov 8, 2016 13:51:42 GMT 1, Mine just landed, looks incredible. Surprisingly tightly rolled (tighter than tube required) no damage but may take some time to flatten out properly. The finish really adds to it imo.

Conor Harrington - Hide and Seek, by damo on Oct 20, 2016 18:04:38 GMT 1, went to grab one for a friend, and we both had no luck. I literally spent 20 seconds from release to copying and pasting my details into the system and clicking purchase, yet still no luck. How the hell do you guys do it. surprised more than anything. I've missed out on plenty over the last few years but am definitely getting better (managed to snag this and a Kunstrasen recently). If it helps, as i used to be convinced everyone else had some sort of bot widget to beat me, here are some possible tips;
1) I now work from home rather than an office and that seems to make a big diff 2) Always run through the checkout (without pressing final button) process in advance using something cheap from the shop (if poss). That way you know what needs to be completed, and don't sit staring at hold pages. 3) Log into Paypal in advance if checkout accepts it 4) Use autofill (on a Mac) for personal/cc details as that makes a huge diff in speed.
Plenty on here with far more experience at this than me but i do the above now and plenty of refresh clicks is all i do. Got a # below 105 which sounds like i wasn't quickest but not too far off.
Having said that I love this piece and I am keeping my silver Spot Remover but something is going to have to make way (I'm rapidly wiping out my cash stash and wall space). I suspect on that basis it might be farewell to Pejacs Linea if anyone is interested.

Kunstrasen Spot Remover print., by damo on Oct 13, 2016 10:28:20 GMT 1, My silver has landed. Tbh I'm not quite sure how to frame this now though. I liked the standard edition in a simple white frame and mount but i don't know if that will actually work as well with this variation.

Art on a Postcard Guaranteed Lottery, by damo on Oct 11, 2016 17:42:25 GMT 1, I pulled out Rich Levine, and .... I think ... i'm happy with that. I was hoping for Paul Insect, Joe Webb or Harland Miller tbh but odds were stacked against me - and its a great cause regardless;

Fanakapan 🇬🇧 Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale , by damo on Sept 3, 2016 16:00:53 GMT 1, A couple of recent issues have hit my wallet really hard. Looking to move a few more recent things along as a result. Preference for hand over in London if possible (but can post if need be). Will let these go close at reasonable prices but need to find paperwork to confirm what cost actually was on them, don't want to post without a guide though so if you feel they are too high feel free to make offer (used memory and ebay as a rough guide, clearly going lower than the latter).
The Walker has a very slight overspray on the right edge as these were all hand finished up for the Art Car Boot Fair. May also have to consider letting my Pejac Linea go as well but i'm trying to avoid that tbh.
Fanakapan, Rise - £220
Nick Walker, Ghetto Blaster - £275
Kunstrasen, Burn Capatilism Burn - £125

Stik... On a Budget, by damo on Aug 8, 2016 22:01:23 GMT 1, They are called Norrlida, they were made obsolete in early 2016 Shame, they are great frames for the price anyone found any other that fits his posters? Thx Tbh I gave up looking in the end. Just got my framer to do a nice basic job for it, came in around £40 so was more than happy with that. Didn't iron out creases and you can see them, but you need to go looking.

Pejac show London "Law of the Weakest" 22-31 July, by damo on Jul 22, 2016 23:11:41 GMT 1, i believe it closes at 10pm. Id say you've a decent shot at 9pm to still get one. Suspect they wont even have got through processing everyone in the original queue by then. Wasn't quickest in world although number system kept it civilised. Works are amazing though (particularly Meadow in the flesh, and the rain forest painted with truck wheel tracks) You've put that very diplomatically. One card payment terminal with 200 people to process, wasn't the smartest idea from the management. It took an hour for them to get though the first 40 orders. Being a veteran of plenty of these queues, I think this was the slowest yet. They did provide beers though, but after hammering them last night at the opening it was tiring to say the least.
Was hot in there as well wasn't it! One slight gripe I have is they didn't number the tubes and, having looked at mine tonight, they then accidentally dished them out in reverse order, ie. I suspect first in queue got 200/200 and tomorrow theyll be left with lowest numbered editions. I know it doesn't really matter (and flippers won't even know) but for minimal effort of numbering ends of tubes (and correlating with tickets handed out) it would have been nice/normal touch. Shame but no biggie.

Pejac show London "Law of the Weakest" 22-31 July, by damo on Jul 22, 2016 15:03:39 GMT 1, About 50 in queue now. No dogs but first pram has arrived.
Looks like they are going to dish out numbers so should be nice and orderly, hopefully. Although, due to self imposed limit of one buy per month, if I'd gotten the Nick Smith earlier I wouldn't now have to be numbing my backside on Shoreditch pavement under ever darkening clouds!

Nick Smith 🇬🇧 Pixelated Art • Colour Swatches • New Print, by damo on Jul 22, 2016 14:31:32 GMT 1, This is my favourite of all his prints. Really annoyed as I can see it on the site but can't get the delivery outside US. Can't even see Paypall option that someone suggested above. Not sure of the logic of not shipping outside the States. Not going to stop people visiting a new site. I've emailed and they said it 'might' go on UK site at a later date (presumably if only if it doesn't sell out). Annoying.

Your latest Art Purchase?, by damo on Jul 1, 2016 17:37:52 GMT 1, .. and the art police are still very happy with their £50 art car boot fair purchase (despite the fact neither she, nor I, know absolutely anything about it!) Its growing on me though. If anyone can fill in any details be much appreciated (although I do wonder if ignorance might be bliss on this one). This is great. Love it. I'd be interested to know the name of the artist. Ha, so would we Coach! We were leaving the fair and the rain was relentless when the wife saw this. Whoever's stall it was it was quite low key, maybe a dozen works on canvas on a table and framed up like this one. The artist had wandered off and a neighbouring female artist took the £50 for it after we had been looking for him a while. All i know is, what she told me ....."he's called 'David'.... something.. 'double barrelled'. Got a bright green suit on. Good looking bloke". From a Google perspective thats not the most useful description and no one really fits from the ACBF list of participating artists!

Nick Walker - Art Car Boot, by damo on Jun 20, 2016 17:39:29 GMT 1, Im going to let this go if anyone is interested. Not looking to flip it but as i have referenced previously it has some slight overspray (in orange) on the right side of the print (more noticeable imo than this pic probably shows). If anyone else can live with that (its still bothering me but I don't want to go back and hassle Nick about it) i am happy to pass on at cost (plus a drink;-), in return for all the help i get from this forum. Let me know by PM if interested. London handover is preference as the tube these came in were shorter than the print and i don't want to roll it into anything thinner really.

Recommended Art Books, by damo on Jun 20, 2016 16:10:10 GMT 1, Fair amount just added to the Phaidon 'Friends and Family' sale, some at 75%. Decent selection of art, design, photography and architecture that may be of interest to someone: uk.phaidon.com/promo/fnf2016/75off/Some great deals there. Phaidon produce some gorgeous books. But it does seem that the deals are only if you are a member of their Friends scheme. Have I understood that correctly? No i don't think thats the case, i simply used the link he posted and purchased a couple of books with nice 75% discounts. Thank you Rufas for the heads up.

Nick Walker - Car Boot Sale, by damo on Jun 15, 2016 17:44:02 GMT 1, Similar question, and apologies for hijacking thread. When I got mine I selected from the van (it was still raining hard) and it was carefully rolled etc. When I got home I noticed that there was actually a small overspray from another print on the right hand side. Wouldn't matter bar mine was hand finished in yellow (which was the one I wanted) and the overspray is orange from another print. Ive been trying decide what to do since Sunday. Its not damaged per se but it clearly wasn't intended and, tbh, its going to bug me if I frame it like that as its clearly unintended. I feel bad complaining re the spirit of the event but, likewise, its still a £200 print. Its it reasonable to drop an email or something I should just live with?
P.s. as above, he seemed a really nice bloke on the day (especially considering he was tying to work in the back of a van at the time).

Art Car Boot Fair, by damo on Jun 12, 2016 18:48:20 GMT 1, First one I've been to, really enjoyed it (despite 3 hours queuing in the rain, without a brolly) and picked up a few bits that i wanted (Emin poster and a Nick Walker in particular). Managed to get someone to look after the kids so it was nice for the wife and i for a few hours.
Anyway, quick question. I picked up a canvas on impulse from stall just to the right of Pam Hogg (one stall along), basically my wife liked it and it was a very good price (and she wasn't that taken with my Walker, so i was balancing the spend out, kinda!). Anyway the artist wasn't there but neighbour did the deal (it was pishing down at that point). Apparently the fella was wearing a bright green suit but no one could find him at the time. She said his name was 'David Renwick', but I've checked the line up and no one by that name is even listed? Can anyone help clarify? Ta
