Art Storage UK, by Eastend Boy 13 on Jan 21, 2022 17:31:07 GMT 1, Is there a danger using a high street self-storage facility that fine art prints etc could be damaged by deterioration/mould etc, if the facility doesn't have an air-conditioned or temperature-controlled environment? I have a unit in a new purpose-built self-store, but not sure if it is advisable to store prints there...

Jeff Koons 🇺🇸 Balloon Dog • Sculpture • Art For Sale, by Eastend Boy 13 on Dec 14, 2021 14:23:59 GMT 1, £174 import charges. Thanks Brexit Didn’t these ship from the US of A? If so, that fee has nothing to do with Brexit. Should we just pay 5% in the UK as a limited edition artwork, does anyone know? If so, is it worth trying to claim back the additional 15% from HMRC?

Saw that they shipped internationally. Check out this link: inq-online.com/jeff_koons_triple_popeye_skateboardsMy colleague told me about this and I'm thinking of getting one myself. Aren't they limited to 500 pieces? I used this route, but the purchase is still processed/fulfilled by Skateroom in Belgium....

What a Steal! 12 well-known artists for 250 Dollar, by Eastend Boy 13 on Dec 2, 2021 12:13:51 GMT 1, Customer service quickly rectified the situation after emailing. Inside my mini box the hands were wrapped with tissue paper instead of a ziplock baggie, maybe they got smarter as they went along. mine came with the paper also but inside the tissue paper was a little baggie with the hands sealed securely inside…. what number was ur box? I was short of a couple of hands - I think the plastic ziplock must have been a later enhancement - if you email them they'll post some replacements to you - mine are on route - BTW I finally found a use for the small ziplock bags that come in the free Lateral Flow Test boxes (UK)!

Mend Piece For John, (1968/2021), by Eastend Boy 13 on Nov 22, 2021 0:51:57 GMT 1, shop.whitechapelgallery.org/products/yoko-ono-mend-piece-for-john-1968-2021
Yoko Ono
Mend Piece For John, (1968/2021)
Broken ceramic cup, glue in metal tube, digital print on paper, cotton twine, satin ribbon, plastic bag, box
Box: 17.8 × 17.8 × 5.2 cm
Edition of 100, accompanied by artist-stamped certificate
Mend Piece For John, 1968/2021, by Yoko Ono has been created on the occasion of the Whitechapel Gallery exhibition Yoko Ono: MEND PIECE for London, 25 August 2021 – 2 January 2022.
During her Whitechapel Gallery exhibition, visitors are invited to respond to an instruction from Yoko Ono; to enter the gallery, take a seat at a table on which are placed broken fragments of ceramic cups and saucers and some simple materials for repair – scissors, glue, twine and tape. Once finished ‘mending’, visitors are invited to display the results of their efforts along the shelves on the walls. This edition is conceived as an extension of Ono's Whitechapel Gallery exhibition.
Ono first presented this work as Mending Piece I at her 1966 solo exhibition at Indica Gallery, London, a renowned centre for countercultural art. Titled Yoko at Indica: Unfinished Paintings and Objects, almost every work in the exhibition was designed to be completed through the actions of visitors. Such instruction-based works established Ono as an important figure in the development of both Fluxus and Conceptual art. Her extensive career has since spanned performance, writing, visual art, experimental music and film. A commitment to participation and collaboration has also informed ongoing and tireless campaigns for peace and non-violence.
Mend Piece For John, (1968/2021), relates to an edition created by the artist in 1968. The edition includes the same instructions and poem as the original, but combines this with different materials, conceived especially for Ono's Whitechapel Gallery version.
Both Mend Piece For John, and MEND PIECE for London draw on the Japanese tradition of kintsugi, the art of repairing broken pottery using lacquer mixed with precious metals such as gold and silver. The process nurtures breakage as an important part of an object’s history, rather than seeking to disguise it. In this artwork, the physical act of repair becomes a timely metaphor for a different kind of mending which takes place in the mind and through community.

John Lennon 'Imagine' Folio, by Eastend Boy 13 on Sept 9, 2021 17:36:13 GMT 1, Introducing the John Lennon Imagine Folio in collaboration with Yoko Ono Lennon. This pair of A3 limited-edition prints, exclusive to the Abbey Road Shop, detail facsimiles of John Lennon’s drawings and handwritten lyrics. The announcement of the Imagine Folio is in celebration of the 50th anniversary of Lennon’s iconic album Imagine, released on 9 September 1971; this is the first time John Lennon prints have been available to buy at Abbey Road Studios.
The two prints are replicas of original John Lennon artworks, the first depicting Lennon’s familiar self-portraits, originally made in 1968 for a self-published brochure of John & Yoko’s films titled On Film No.5 and Two Virgins.
The original drawing for Film No. 5 (Smile), contained 16 faces that mimicked the progression of John’s smile in the slow-motion film, which sat alongside Yoko’s essays in the brochure. The second print combines two separate John Lennon pieces - one a drawing of a person sitting on top of the world in contemplation, and the other a verse taken from Imagine, handwritten by John Lennon.
Limited to 500 prints, the Imagine Folio makes for the perfect collector’s item.
Isabel Garvey, Managing Director of Abbey Road Studios says:
"We are thrilled to release this special Imagine folio in partnership with Yoko Ono, to celebrate not only an iconic single and album but John Lennon’s artistry, and his legendary contribution to the Abbey Road story."
Product details:
Each hand-made folio is crafted from 135gsm Colorplan paper, covering a greyboard interior. The prints are both cradled with grey Colorplan holders and secured with black ribbon. The folio cover is surmounted with white foil blocking and accompanied by printed provenance, detailing these remarkable pieces.
