POW 2009 • The Fiesta Resistance, by stickitup on Dec 7, 2009 11:45:59 GMT 1, yeah right mate, i have been wrinting since the mid eighties, so dont make me laugh about knowing a sanitised world, pow are sanitised with a capital S. and so if anyone was hurt by twats at the pinata bashing - especially someone young who had been blind folded you think it would have been ok? probably do, but then you are so raw you only know an unsanitsed world, i bet you are living right on the edge bopping down tracks and yards every night.

POW 2009 • The Fiesta Resistance, by stickitup on Dec 7, 2009 10:17:25 GMT 1, sorry, heres the truth, by and large it could have been a great event if it hadn't have been spoilt by a rather embarrassing greed of people trying to get......sweets, under the premise that it was a ticket for a banksy print falling from the pinata. I am not winging, if anyone thinks that it was clear that it was only sweets falling from the pinata then you are sorely wrong. had the russ abbot look a like stood there and said "hitting the pinata is just a bit of fun, sweets will fall, please pass them around so everyone has some, after that we will hold the raffle for the banksy" we would not be typing about the pinata thing like it was irresponsible. saying that it was a fun day out and the security guards should be given credit for being friendly and dealing with the p*ss head, it just could have been a little better organised.

POW 2009 • The Fiesta Resistance, by stickitup on Dec 6, 2009 22:36:02 GMT 1, hmmm, yeah not the best event, my wife who was carrying our a 13 month old son with her was barged by some rather enthusiastic p*ss head pr*ck who seemed to think the sweets that came out were made of gold. The way to have done it would be to have announced that the raffle was for the banksy and other goods, the pinata was just a bit of fun. In all fairness I think the guy did get chucked out but like people have said certain others at the event should be ashamed.

Banksy 'Punk' Mural Defaced, by stickitup on Nov 3, 2009 14:50:02 GMT 1, graff is mostly about fame, but also has a number of rules and regulations and although banksy never said he was a graffiti writer (although this is where he started) the media love calling him one - which other writers do not like. i think he will always be the subject of crossing out and professional jelousy, however you have to recognise graffiti by its very nature is never meant to last, it depicts a moment in time which is transitory. if you want to see an untouched banksy buy a print or go to his next show.

some graff I done...! , by stickitup on Oct 26, 2009 14:47:02 GMT 1, haha was just about to say it looks like it was done in the 80's. stylewise it does look dated with zig-zag flared arrows, and not too sure about the last letter.

Grafter - 'Secrets and Lies', by stickitup on Oct 16, 2009 13:39:47 GMT 1, both arms easy to see, she is covering her mouth as a comment on how she has no voice in the conflict in her country. although the nearest arm does look a little too bright and it makes the image look a little unbalanced, i think i was expecting to see it half in shadow.

Banksy has sprayed on walls and doors??, by stickitup on Oct 5, 2009 13:20:26 GMT 1, yes of course, in the same way he could using the medium of dance, or carving a pumpkin - although it must be said i do not think the medium would be the best vehicle for conveying his concepts.

PROVING YOU ARE THE OWNER, by stickitup on Oct 5, 2009 11:24:52 GMT 1, so as it goes pow don't offer COA for any prints other than Banksys, however they will verify the print and reregister it in my name if I take it along to them. can't say fairer than that.

PROVING YOU ARE THE OWNER, by stickitup on Oct 2, 2009 20:35:31 GMT 1, cap1one1 no worries I know you are not saying it is dodgey and I have no reason to believe it is, however I have absolutely no way of finding out who I bought it off - unless POW can contact the original buyer and get confirmation from them that they sold it to me. silv & how, well yes at the time I wanted to expand my collection and I wanted a Hewlett, I already had a Banksy (Weston Super Mare @ £75), the cans at the time I thought weren't that good - and nor did many people as I remember them being up on the site for ages, this really was pre explosion so laugh now but I am not sure there aren't a hundreds of people on here looked at the banksys and passed up on getting several for next to nothing. just one of those things, I mean I bumped into rob in the street and could have asked him to paint me something - another opportunity gone and one more rare than getting any of his prints.

PROVING YOU ARE THE OWNER, by stickitup on Oct 2, 2009 14:25:28 GMT 1, i mean i am sure the print is not dodgey, it was bought several years ago for £125 - hardly a big deal to rob someone for and at the time you could still get banksy soup cans for £50. My problem thinking about the current system is that I could want to pay for provenance and then find that its impossible to get - so does it mean my print is not worth the going rate. I get the impression PC thought up the idea and then realised there was some flaws in it. If I was to buy a Banksy and do a forgery of it there is the possibility that 2 editions of the same print would be floating about and if I was to pay for another PC certificate the "extra" copy would also have the provenance?

PROVING YOU ARE THE OWNER, by stickitup on Oct 2, 2009 13:29:31 GMT 1, it was a print bought from a secondary maybe even terciary source, the artist is not banksy but is from POW, I have no idea who the person I got the print from is or if they were the original owner. Its a Hewlett - the hick, I am sure POW can tell me who the original purchaser was however it is no longer with them and I am the new owner, does the stamp on the print confirm it is authenticatable (if thats the right word)?

PROVING YOU ARE THE OWNER, by stickitup on Oct 2, 2009 12:13:49 GMT 1, can someone point me in the right direction for a thread regarding authentication. basically i have a print but i cant remember who i got it from and it didn't come with authentication as it was purchased long before all this became an issue and prices rose dramatically, how do i prove i am the legitimate owner?

Getting a canvas stretchered...?, by stickitup on Oct 1, 2009 14:57:31 GMT 1, do it yourself, dead easy. trick is to place a tack or staple through the canvas in the middle of the vertical and horizontal stretcher and then keep adding more tacks or staples opposite each, fold the corners and once done wet the back of the canvas with a damp cloth or sponge and it will take up any slack. I am sure if you do a search on google there will be a utube clip showing how to do it - look for something like how to stretch a canvas on a stretcher.

Collaborators wanted... FINALLY FINISHED!!, by stickitup on Oct 1, 2009 13:24:23 GMT 1, i'd be up for contributing to the next one, any chance of doing two the same and sending off to 2 chains, if theres not enough people you could split the list down the middle and have 2 smaller chains - might speed things up and the final image comparisom could be interesting.

Progress shots. latest stencil on paper T*3, by stickitup on Oct 1, 2009 12:36:51 GMT 1, krylon sucks big time price-wise, unless you are doing photorealism works as the paint is realy thin and its transparency allows you to build shading - it is a commercail paint for those that dont know such as your mum or dad. rusto used to be good when it was lead based many many years ago, it may be good still now. not heard of the other one which i assume is a US only domestic paint similar to krylon. plasticote has made some dodgey paint and tends to block nozzles quite well. if you can find it and have the cash go for montana which is thick and reliable and cheap.

Banksy Strawberry Donut FS, by stickitup on Oct 1, 2009 12:15:31 GMT 1, entertaining stuff this thread. if you need the money why should it be an issue to sell, if you are flipping then it makes bad carma, but then who really gives a fu ck, i wish i got a donut but i didn't, and therefore can i afford to buy one on the secondary market - no....why not because demand is high, which stimulates the flipping market and secondary market prices, get over it.

Ron English Print 🇺🇸 Popaganda • Pop Culture • Toys, by stickitup on Sept 30, 2009 13:29:13 GMT 1, when we did the launch for xbox in the states, their version of the red arrows (who i think are called something like the blue eagles) were going to fly by with these units which puffed out cluds of smoke like a dot matrix printer in order to spell things in the sky, this looks like a similar thing has been done.
