BANKSY - Time Out London Magazine , by spirit on Feb 26, 2010 15:38:01 GMT 1, Brilliant coming from you ive never bought anything based on exclusivity. thats just madness, the need for something that no one else can get is very weird.
What was that about a one off blue prayer book that was so rare it was never even meant to be sold again?

BANKSY - Time Out London Magazine , by spirit on Feb 26, 2010 12:46:06 GMT 1, Just called them and the differnce being , The 10.00,, is a poster , the 12.99 is the differnt front covers edition so all included , and the 3.99 is just the one edition hope this clears it up guys
Hmmmm - I'm still confused (and the fact they use the same copy for each option really doesn't help...)
At first I thought the 12.99 was a set of the poster and a collectors edition mag. Now I think the 12.99 may be just for a collectors edition mag (as opposed to a regular edition mag) and therefore may not include the poster....
So I ordered the ยฃ12.99 set and an extra poster just to be on the safe side...
If anyone is calling them, I'd like to know how limited this edition is and whether the posters come folded or not.

for sale , by spirit on Feb 25, 2010 21:05:08 GMT 1, out of interest what do you see as a fair price for this ? well, the original cost was ยฃ3,650 and fredjones78 is hoping more than looking for offers over ยฃ2,000 so lets say ยฃ2,001.00. When the price has come down ยฃ1,649 you know it's got more to go. It's also been listed for months so nobody has missed out. JB sold an original DFACE piece only the other day - that originally cost around the ยฃ5,000 i think and that sold for ยฃ3,500 less. Let's not mess about here lads the market for sellers dumping is done - the buying market for those of us who are still around and are still buying what banksy describes as s**t are getting great deals.
Does someone pay you to talk down prices? Just wondered as it's all you ever seem to do...

Cartrain ๐ฌ๐ง Tate Gallery โข Damien Hirst โข Gilbert & George, by spirit on Feb 24, 2010 18:40:20 GMT 1, Damien Hirst for a start. Anish Kapoor is another. These guys are multi-millionaires producing utter cr@p!
You think Anish Kapoor has less talent than Cartrain? Really??? And if Damien Hirst has less talent why do you think Cartrain feels the need to ride his coat tails so much? I try and understand other people's points of view as best I can but I'm really struggling with this one...

Framed Grey No Ball Games for sale or trade , by spirit on Feb 24, 2010 18:24:55 GMT 1, Not wishing to be rude, but why don't you just stick up a price. What is the worst that can happen? It might prove to be a better tactic than the current one, and it gives interested parties something to go on Wot he said, wot I said. Since you have a clear reluctance to put a price up, let me allow you to draft your ad (for gratis). FS: Banksy NBG Grey, camped out freezing my nuts off for this one with like some like minded individuals and some others who actually wanted to keep it. ( ) Similar pieces have sold unframed for ยฃ1850 and I've spent ยฃ200 on framing to 'x' standard by the much loved MFM. The framing is not objectionable and I'd like to get 100% return on this. Looking for ยฃ2150 ovvno - pls PM me in confidence. London pick up preferred but might be able to work something out. Forum references available (?) on request. No parallels may be sought between this and the broadly similar Green. Thks. There you go - piece of piss.
almost perfect ;D - only a small mathematical issue - ยฃ1850 + ยฃ200 = ยฃ2050 not ยฃ2150

JetSet Graffiti, by spirit on Feb 23, 2010 18:41:34 GMT 1, Well done poppy and pffffffffft. Sounds like JetSet will end up wishing he had paid up when he had the chance. I guess he'll have plenty of time to think about that when he's sharing a cell with Big Bubba.

10/10 for getting perfidious in there ;D. A forum search indicates that you are the first and only person to use that word for at least the last 365 days (I tried looking back further but the search timed out). Anyway, well done. +1

JetSet Graffiti, by spirit on Feb 22, 2010 12:24:05 GMT 1, Certainly his gallery status should be taken away and admins should prevent JSG from posting to promote his business until this is resolved. That seems like a good compromise to me.
Seeing as Jetset seems to have decided to leave of his own accord without any suggestion that he is prepared to make good on the money he owes I think there is a strong argument for an outright ban now. Despite being given every opportunity to defend himself and give his side of the story he has refused to do so.
If people still feel that a right to reply should be left open for him then at the very least I think that it is now time for Afroken's suggestion above to be implemented. Would you agree with that Silky?
Also Silky, please can you make a note of the IP number(s) used by JetSet as if previous form on other forums that he has been banned from is anything to go by, it is likely that he will start posting on here again using a different persona next time he has something to sell.
IMO it is now beyond any reasonable doubt that Daniel Lahoda of JSG is a liar and a thief. I therefore agree that it would be a good idea if this thread was given a clear title and stickyed so that forum members (particularly new ones) are left in no doubt about the kind of person they are dealing with, and the risks they would be taking, should they be tempted to deal with him in the future.
Poppy - I'm sorry that you have not got your money back yet and I sincerely hope you take up the suggestions made by Jam, Pffffffft and others with regards to appropriate legal courses of action. Please keep us updated on your progress.

The Designers Republic (tDR)?, by spirit on Feb 19, 2010 13:24:44 GMT 1, tdr are/were graphic designers rather than artists - in terms of design history they are totally relevant - certainly one of the most influential design groups to come out of the UK and some would say the greatest graphic design firm from anywhere ever. In terms of art history? debatable... I'd say not.
tdr's heyday was in the mid nineties when its work on game (wipeout) and music packaging (warp records) was fresh and dynamic and unlike anything anyone had really seen before. Most of this creative vision was down to one designer - Michael C Place. After he left to set up his own company called Build, tdr never really recovered.
They closed last year due to being shafted for a lot of money by a client apparently. Although at the time the founder (Ian Anderson) said he planned to reopen very soon - perhaps that is why the website is still up.

JetSet Graffiti, by spirit on Feb 19, 2010 12:21:13 GMT 1, JetSet - you do realise that's it's unlikely that you'll ever sell anything to anyone in the UK street art community again unless you sort this out right? How many people do you think have read this thread now? - the evidence (and your lack of response to it) speaks for itself.
Even those who originally posted in support of you have now gone very quiet. Probably because they have finally realised that it could just as easily have been them that were out of pocket for a serious amount of money - there but for the grace of god.
This isn't going to go away EVER until you make good on the money you owe. Every day that goes by without you doing so makes it less likely that your business will survive.

Any response to this JetSet?

Website and proofs from Data, by spirit on Feb 18, 2010 18:30:38 GMT 1, Hi data
Very nice prints these - I bought one when they came out and am very happy with it.
But...I find it a little annoying when artists release APs or special versions after the initial print run because it means the "early adopters" have already bought and therefore miss out on the specials. I would much rather see them released at the same time so that those that get in first have the option of the special one if they want it. Is that something you might consider next time?

JetSet Graffiti, by spirit on Feb 18, 2010 16:18:28 GMT 1, For most of that 18 months, sufficient pressure has not been applied. However, I get the feeling that things are moving on a little now. If JSG thinks he can get away without paying then he won't pay. So its up to us to make it quite clear to him that there's no way he is going to get away with it. I think it would be a mistake to under estimate the influence that the members of this street art forum might have on the behaviour of this street art "gallery". It didnt seem to work on the giant forum when we were all posting on there to do with this issue. Well just hope everything gets sorted.
True. But his "legitimate" business has grown a fair bit since then. He's partnered with modern multiples (who have their own rep to consider) and done the release with Dface etc. When all this kicked off on the giant I guess he felt it wasn't the end of the world as he could just shift his business over here. But there really is nowhere else to go now - he's burnt all his bridges. In short, he's got a lot more to lose now than he did then. imo $8K seems like a small price to pay to save a business that allegedly sold 6500 prints last year.
I really hope it gets sorted too.

JetSet Graffiti, by spirit on Feb 18, 2010 15:52:10 GMT 1, Banning him doesn't help Chris though No it does'nt help, but it's not going to do him any harm, it's been 18 months. Dont you think JSG would of payed up by now if he had any intentions to? It needs to be taken down the proper channels now and keeping JSG on this forum is'nt going to benefit him getting his money back!!!

JetSet Graffiti, by spirit on Feb 18, 2010 12:07:38 GMT 1, I dont mind banning him right now if thats what you really want? but last night we managed to get a bit closer to some of you getting a bit of money back off him. Shall I just f**k that up, ban him and lock the thread? To tell ya the truth Im pretty f**ked off with all this coz the way some of you act like you dont really want your money back and that just looks suspect Your not helping yourself! Im trying to sort this out for you so at least some of you get something back of him, but all I get a b**chin at me for it Just tell me to ban him and lock the thread, its no loss to me! Im just trying to help you.
My view is that this thread has a reasonable chance of succeeding in getting poppy's money back. This place is important to JetSet as it's the only forum left where he can tout his wares. I therefore think that if enough pressure is applied to him here for long enough that he will eventually and inevitably come to the simple business decision that paying his debt is better for him financially than having his reputation constantly called into question and the resulting loss of business.
I'm sure that Jetset would like nothing more than for this thread to be locked and to disappear. This thread is hurting him. To quote him earlier "Please stop this". These are exactly the reasons why this thread must be allowed to continue. However, I also believe that if someone is being accused of wrong doing, in the interests of fairness, their right to reply must be maintained (even if he chooses not to use it). So I don't think he should be banned - yet.
What's your view on this poppy?
Edit: By the way, anyone else check out that link to the bmw forum that afroken posted earlier? It's exactly the same story but with car parts instead of prints...
I dont mind banning him right now if thats what you really want? but last night we managed to get a bit closer to some of you getting a bit of money back off him.
