Dreweatts Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by hlarmy on Oct 21, 2010 18:58:57 GMT 1, Bring it ... estimate on the first lot is a bit on the steep side seeing one sold recently for 2.1k
I picked one of these up a month ago so let's hope it flies so I can sell up and move to the Carribean...

My Herakut Original canvas (just so you know), by hlarmy on Oct 21, 2010 18:05:19 GMT 1, I'm lucky enough to have seen these in the flesh and was not disappointed. Two of the best Kut and Hera's I've seen, although to be honest I haven't seen that many! It's also refreshing to see some realistic pricing, if not a little cheap! Big up to you Shnizzle

Dreweatts Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by hlarmy on Oct 21, 2010 17:34:16 GMT 1, I'm looking forward to seeing what most of the lots bring in, from the more established like Banksy, Os Gemeos, Richter and the Harings, to those artists who I think have great potential such as Yeo, Remi Rough and Mantis, not to mention some of the artists that frequent this place on the odd occasion. Great sale, and good luck to all, whether you have work in the sale or if you're bidding. I'm currently heading West from Bristol but wish I was going in the opposite direction as I miss the buzz of a good auction!

Dreweatts Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by hlarmy on Oct 21, 2010 12:55:46 GMT 1, I never remember my password for The Saleroom website and from experience, if your the same ask it to resend your password now! I don't think its sent out instant, so you don't want to be caught out later.
Good shout
EDIT: my lord, I've just got to have lot 10; a true classic. One for the office I think, rather than the master bedroom or the library

Dreweatts Art Auctions 🇬🇧, by hlarmy on Oct 21, 2010 12:50:40 GMT 1, I managed to get onto the salesroom for last week's shambles but couldn't get the feed. Did anyone else have any problems by any chance...
I'd love to own any one of about 20 pieces in this auction...

Silky Email Newsletter, by hlarmy on Oct 21, 2010 7:37:41 GMT 1, Silky, I don't usually get involved with the slanging matches on here, but as I have been quoted in the heart of this discussion, I figured I may as well continue to be involved and post some more
From where I'm standing, the newsletter every week contains maybe up to 15 / 20 links to the big events of the week and the things that are coming up in the near future - you're right, it's your newsletter and obviously you choose what to include in it. My initial comments on this thread were from an outsiders perspective where I was surprised to see that Vermin didn't get a mention either in the week prior to the show or the week after, which prompted me to ask whether this was an oversight?
Given what has come to light, and correct me if I'm wrong, it appears it wasn't an oversight. However to quote you, you don't have any beef with Art-el and you simply forgot to mention Vermin in the newsletter?
If that isn't true, and you purposely didn't mention the Vermin show, then you can forgive me and others (including Mike) for thinking that you do have 'beef' with Art-el / Mike / Steph etc.
I'm not going to say anything else on the matter, but likes others am curious to know (1) why you chose not to include the Vermin show in any of your newsletters if you don't have beef with the above, whether it's because you forgot, you don't like the art etc (as you said it's your newsletter), and also (2) whether Mike 'told' you to include it in the newsletter via PM / email?
As I said I'm not taking sides in all this, but would like to offer a perspective on the matter from someone who's not involved and doesn't know either you or Mike that well
Over and out

JR gets some mainstream recognition, by hlarmy on Oct 20, 2010 12:56:00 GMT 1, OI H... GET BACK TO WORK AND GET OFF THE WORKS COMPUTER!!!!
I resisted the temptation to logon for 2.5 days ... then I got bored of being back in employment!
I'm a little surprised that this hasn't received more interest, far more exciting than the crap that makes up most of the recent 100 posts!!

JR gets some mainstream recognition, by hlarmy on Oct 20, 2010 12:36:41 GMT 1, Congrats to JR, it's about time he received more recognition for the work he does, and this should ensure he continues to do his stuff for a few more years to come
Amazing PR as well - both from the award and the article in the NY Times.
Cheers for posting gentlemental

WTB: Signed Morons, by hlarmy on Oct 19, 2010 19:15:33 GMT 1, I would go for 2.5k for a Sepia, mid price between the last two sold at 2.1k and 2.8k, and probably more like 3.2k for a B/W at a guess...

Where to buy Takashi Murakami Prints?, by hlarmy on Oct 18, 2010 21:57:14 GMT 1, I believe you have to be a Japan resident to purchase direct, otherwise you have to buy secondary. I started a similar thread about a month ago if you want to have a read of that...

Is the print "market" saturated??? , by hlarmy on Oct 17, 2010 13:12:20 GMT 1, Not sure I agree with that...
Also, since when has Banksy delayed the release of a print - is this just speculation?

Is the print "market" saturated??? , by hlarmy on Oct 17, 2010 12:46:39 GMT 1, The conversation will go something like... Oh is that a banksy print - bet that's worth a fortune. They don't even look at the image In turn it's coming back to bite itself in the ass
Isn't that the same with many contemporary artists
What do you mean by the latter statement jboy?

Nick Walker "In Gods We Trust" 13th Oct, by hlarmy on Oct 17, 2010 12:35:02 GMT 1,
There were no red dots, but I wouldn't imagine they do that anyway. I didn't ask the question though.
I was actually quite impressed with some of the pieces, not a huge fan of the subject for the show but thought the execution was quite impressive. Good gallery space and an interesting move for NW...
May post some photos of this and a few other shows later if I can be bothered

What are you willing to pay for this..., by hlarmy on Oct 13, 2010 23:57:12 GMT 1, SPQR: Summer Days
Year: 2008 Edition: 20 (hand-finished) / 90 (image) Original Cost: £225
Signed & hand-finished, printed on fancy art paper with crisp deckled edges
[glow=red,2,300]RULES OF ENGAGEMENT[/glow]
- I would like to propose that no comments are made on this thread (I don't need to be told "great piece", or "good luck with the sale") Comments welcome via PM
- Simply state the amount you would be willing to pay, including postage. An example post would there be:
£225
- As soon as I receive an amount that I feel is reasonable I will accept it and end the 'game'. I am willing to accept under cost.
- If I do not receive any tempting offers, I will either end the 'game' or add something in order to tempt you folks into increasing the bid.
- There is no minimum or maximum amount so everyone can play. Plus, if your bid is not the highest it doesn't necessarily mean you will not be given the chance to buy it at that price
Remember, if nothing else, this thread is meant to be a bit of fun. Play by the rules please, otherwise I'll be forced to send Wiz your way...

Can I suggest you sack the person / team responsible for the newsletter
