Faile Happens Every Day, by Cardiff on Aug 20, 2013 19:14:30 GMT 1, Thanks chaserawr...had that same suggestion from a couple friends. I'm totally unfamiliar with the auction process, and would prefer an easy deal with a forum member, but if something doesn't come together, I may look into it or just stick it on EBay.

Faile Happens Every Day, by Cardiff on Aug 20, 2013 14:08:36 GMT 1, Thanks for your kind words of encouragement Mace! If it doesn't sell, it doesn't sell...I don't need the $ for a surgery as mentioned above...just looking to replace w/a new piece.
If I can net out $5K after all the fees/shipping, I'm happy to move it along unframed to a new home.

Faile Happens Every Day, by Cardiff on Aug 18, 2013 15:15:36 GMT 1, Sorry but no sympathy for selling something stunning like this. 'Clearing some wall space...' is no excuse...maybe a sale of this if lifesaving surgery is needed but for wall space!? There must be something wrong with your eye sight! Perhaps a bad choice of words on my part. It's really more about opportunity cost. I live under the iron fist of a "one in, one out" art dictator. I've been presented the opportunity to pick up a few different pieces that I really like (one of which will keep me in the HED owners club), and I would like to pursue one of them if I can move this piece.
Thanks for all the kind comments.

Faile Happens Every Day, by Cardiff on Aug 17, 2013 23:11:30 GMT 1, I tried to bump my old sales thread w/a new thread w/a link to the old one, and it got removed (sorry mods, didn't realize I was breaking the rules).
In any case, I've got a lovely Happens Every Day that I've thought was sold a few times (couple genuine deals that didn't come together and a couple time wasters). I would like to clear some wall space and sell or trade this. I paid $5,548 (3,500GBP) five months ago and spent just over $700 on framing (located in SoCal if anyone wants to do a face to face deal and buy it framed). Here's a pic. If you want more detailed images, you can search my recent posts for the thread that's got a bunch of detailed shots.
I will consider cash offers and trades for other interesting Faile, Ian Francis, Choe, Herakut, Micallef, Neate, etc.
Let me know if you're interested?

David Choe in Mexico City SNOWMAN MONKEY BBQ , by Cardiff on Aug 17, 2013 17:03:42 GMT 1, Don't have the price list in front of me, but I think they were $45K. Mexican Shower is my distant favorite.

New Adam Neate Editions, by Cardiff on Aug 10, 2013 16:02:38 GMT 1, Thanks for the videos...certainly helps! Can anyone that's been there describe how much depth there is to the 3D/perpex aspects of the Blue/orange portrait (obviously, it can't be too much given the fact that the frame is only 5cm deep)? Also curious about the same on the red portrait (movement).
Lastly, anyone know what they are charging to ship to the US? Thanks again for the videos!

Happens Every Day, by Cardiff on Jul 20, 2013 23:08:05 GMT 1, I've been offered a lot of nice trades, but nothing that is really hitting the mark for me. In response to the pieces I listed as possible trades, I have been offered a couple of very tempting pieces for sale, one of which I would like to act upon. I would therefore like to offer this for sale at the price I paid four months ago.
I just dug out my receipts to check and I paid $5,548 (3,500GBP) to buy this shipped/insured and spent just over $700 on framing. If someone's interested, I'd be looking for...
$5,500 + shipping (at cost) for the print $6,000 framed with local pickup
Let me know if you're interested.

Happens Every Day, by Cardiff on Jul 17, 2013 14:31:39 GMT 1, Thanks for the comments, framing suggestions and inquiries. I've had a lot of people PM asking if I'd consider selling it, and if so, what price am I looking for? My preference would really be to find a trade and I'll probably keep that option open for a little while to see what's offered. In full disclosure, I've got just over $6K into this (including the framing costs). If someone is really interested in buying, I'd be silly not to consider offers, but I'm really not interested in selling for less than my cost.
One other note, I've got a trusted friend who's going to be flying to London in a few weeks who could hand-carry the print with him and ship it anywhere in the UK once he gets there (unframed of course). I don't know what sort of import tax duty savings that translates to, but I thought I'd mention it.

Happens Every Day, by Cardiff on Jul 17, 2013 1:28:49 GMT 1, So I've had this piece on the wall for a few months now...I love the image, I love the framing, but in all honesty, this color way simply doesn't sit well on the wall in our house (over the last three months it's been on just about every one of our walls trying to make it work). I will take more detailed pics when I have a chance, but here are a few to get started. It's from the original edition although the colors seem to be quite a bit stronger than the others I've seen from that edition.
If any of you have something you would be interested in trading for this, please let me know. I'm happy to add cash on my side if anyone has something of greater value that they want to trade out. The artists I'm most interested in are...
Faile (originals, HED oversold edition, Butterfly Girl), Ian Francis OGs, Herakut, Neate, Parla, Choe, etc..
I'm located in SoCal for anyone interested in a face to face deal (or if you want to see the piece). The framing is fantastic with all archival materials. The piece is floated roughly 1/2 inch off the backing and the red trim is a tasteful mica chip material that picks up on all the different pinks/reds in the piece. It has UV acrylic, and may even be shippable framed (although I'm not crazy about doing that). The piece itself is in perfect shape with tons of heavy brushstrokes, thick paper, etc..
I'm happy to provide forum references if necessary. Let me know what you got?

Your latest Art Purchase?, by Cardiff on Jun 10, 2013 14:07:24 GMT 1, Congrats on the commision pieces by Kevin Peterson Cardiff. lovely! You clearly have an art collection that is both beautiful and very personal to you, which is very refreshing. Thanks Coach...feel like my art tastes and passions are changing all the time, but I'm hopeful that I'm always going to enjoy looking at a snapshot of time in my kid's lives.

Adam Neate massive drop in price!, by Cardiff on May 9, 2013 16:27:14 GMT 1, While I'm sensitive to those that are significantly upside down with Neate, I'm thrilled that some of his better work is at more attainable prices. I think he's one of the most interesting and talented artists in any scene and is definitely high on my list of WTBs. Speaking as a self-centered American, I can't believe that it can be a sustainable representation strategy to not show his work in the USA. I seriously hope Elm's/Adam rethinks their strategy on that front...it drives me insane that I have to fly to the other side of the world to see his work in person.
