Clearing Sale, by Brushstrokes 75 on Oct 3, 2014 19:14:22 GMT 1, As I said, those last Ogs aren't for sale. I just asked for some pointers on what pieces like those who go for these days (as I didn't follow prices at all) over the past year and half (give or take)

Clearing Sale, by Brushstrokes 75 on Oct 3, 2014 18:28:11 GMT 1, I'll be in NY in a couple weeks man so we'll go grab a drink!
Those Stern, I had a for a while. They're not even on the walls. They usually go for more at auction but I didn't pay too much for one so I'm happy to let them go cheap.

Clearing Sale, by Brushstrokes 75 on Oct 3, 2014 17:59:08 GMT 1, It is. It's sitting at a friend's house in Panama (along with the Jaz) because I have no space to put it!
I added some ballpark numbers (based on nothing but magic). Everyone's welcome to shoot an offer. As I said, been away for a while so if I'm totally unrealistic (my apologies) don't hesitate to send an offer.

FS Google Glass V3.0, by Brushstrokes 75 on Aug 20, 2014 19:38:21 GMT 1, I know it has nothing to do with art but :
I have a pair of google Glass (the latest version from April) up for sale.
I bought them as a gift to my brother but he doesn't want them. They probably went out of the box 2/3 times.
They come with a pair of shades.
Don't know if anyone is interested on here before I'll flog them on ebay.
Happy to take a hit on cost (which was $1,600).
I have some bits that I will be selling the next couple weeks though

How to purchase Joan Miro with out getting ripped off, by Brushstrokes 75 on Feb 12, 2014 21:54:20 GMT 1, I do have a few (so to speak) Miro pieces. Catalogue raisonne is 6 volumes for lithographs & 3 volumes for etchings . They are fairly expensive because vol 1 through 4 contain original lithographs (with deluxe editions containing the signed lithographs). I have them all so if you need an info pm me.
As Rob said they go from about $1500 up to $70k with most being in the $2.5k/$8k range.
Aquatint & etchings are usually more expensive than lithographs.
Most expensive piece is called equinoxe :
www.christies.com/lotfinder/prints-multiples/joan-miro-equinoxe-5489010-details.aspx
Most expensive print was made for the 100 years of the printer Mourlot (who printed almost every single lithograph Miro ever produced) :
www.christies.com/lotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=1777584
The Miro foundation do authenticate lithographs for about 250 euros. You can get good deals on ebay but as rob said, you need to have a good command of Miro to do that. Otherwise, going through a good auction house (phillips, bonhams, christie s, sothebys, artcurial) would get you the best market pricing. Galleries always sell for more than auction prices because a lot of them source their stuff there.
if you need any info, do not hesitate to contact me

Jean-Michel Basquiat 🇺🇸 Brooklyn, New York • Graffiti Art , by Brushstrokes 75 on Feb 4, 2014 3:55:16 GMT 1, Estate committee or not.. There are still a number of high authority that could still give you an opinion on your work (anina nosei, navarra, shafrazi etc...).
On top of that, the range of prices for Basquiat drawing is huge. Price range from low $10ks to mid 6 figures all depending on size and quality. (and I've seen & been offered really ugly ones with full prov & COA)
Top auctions houses wouldn't disregard a work just because there is no cert or even perfect prov (especially if they know there is no active committee anymore). They would definately do their due dilligence unless it is really shady. They wouldn't pass on a large possible settlement that easily

Why sell on this forum and not Ebay?, by Brushstrokes 75 on Jan 31, 2014 14:06:02 GMT 1, Once upon a time, this forum was a sharing place among people sharing the same interests. This is a community. Of course, value has grown but it doesn't change the core purpose of this site.
How many times did I see people offering stuff at cost where they could have just flog them on ebay to maximize? Knowing when you sell a piece that it's going to a good home is way better than getting top dollar.
Of course, not everyone follow that rule but it doesn't mean that it changes anything in spirit.
I got good deals & I gave some. In the end, everyone's happy & you get to meet & connect with people sharing your interest in art (rather than just being a purely business transaction).

IDEM - Paris (OS Gemeos, JR and David Lynch), by Brushstrokes 75 on Jan 30, 2014 11:27:31 GMT 1, The studio space is incredible & yeah they do have really old machine.
But the studio history is mostly interesting as Mourlot used those presses after the 1970's. Mourlot was probably the most important printer of history. A small damper would be that Mourlot's worked & printed most of those famous artists (Picasso & Co) before 1976. At the time they moved in there, Matisse, Picasso, Giacometti, Calder, Cocteau etc... were all dead so they actually never worked there.
Mourlot Sr died in 1988 & his son carried over until 1997 when they sold the company (& the space) to Patrice Forest but they didn't agree to sell the name.
The space & the machines are awesome though. I know of a couple other printers who uses turn of the century presses & they yield higher quality results.
