Adam Neate - 'Dimensional Editions & Paintings' , by Wiseblood on Oct 2, 2012 12:16:11 GMT 1, I have just spoke to Elms and told that ยฃ300 was just an off the top of the head price, they are shipped and insured within a secure crate with the crate being the bulk of the cost. From the sounds of it it would have been much cheaper than ยฃ300. I've chosen to collect in person as I'm in London often enough.

Think that's the best idea. For most people you could have a weekend in London for the price of shipping. Not Elms fault just a fact so def worth considering

Only one that's sold out - so far - is the edition of 5.

Adam Neate - 'Dimensional Editions & Paintings' , by Deleted on Oct 20, 2012 14:07:29 GMT 1, Hello all, it's been a while, been overseas quite a bit trying to earn a living.
I took my daughter along to the show today. Some of the originals simply blew me away - the runners, the cyclists and the reclining nude in particular. It shows fantastic progression in his work. I really do hope it ends up with the recognition he deserves.
We couldn't run to an original, but i would have bought the lenticular edition in a heartbeat. It is simply stunning. It stopped me in my tracks. It is, as written above, sold out. Apparently they will be doing some more lenticular editions. I will snap one up as soon as I can.
We ummed and aaahed, and decided to pull the trigger on a 'Hug'. I cAn understand why some might not think the editions '3D enough', but their appeal grows with the watching. The more i looked at it, the more 3D it seemed to me. I also think that this marks a good point in his career to pick up a transitional edition.
Paul and Fiona said that the Hug is nearly all sold out and is selling the fastest. They expect all editions to sell out. They are off to the Middle East very shortly and i wouldn't expect much, if anything, to be left afterwards.
It was a bonus to also be able to walk out with the piece as they had received a number of the edition already and after today's collections, had a couple over.
We now have a street piece, a London edition and a dimensional edition. A lenticular is a must for me. Who knows, maybe an original one day as well. :-)
A phenomenally good artist, that shows progression with every show. I am impressed.
Regards,
Adam.

It looks amazing although I would kill for the sold out lenticular ! If anyone has one and looking a quick turn with a good profit please PM me.. Paul said new lenticular works would be done but at a price of at least ยฃ3500. The lucky 5 are very lucky ! I would love to see some framing ideas for the Hug! May start a separate thread

You wouldn't frame the editions I don't think. They come mounted On batons at the back so they float off the wall and according to elms are not really designed to be framed. Nothing stopping you if you really want to though!
The lenticular was impressive but I wouldn't have bought it anyway as I think the movement and flickering in the image every time you walk past it would eventually do my head in. It's nice and 3D if you're stood still in front of it but I didn't actually like the movement. That said its a nice idea and I look forward to seeing what else might be released in this form.
Should be picking up my hug and red nude soon can't wait

Yes if you can't decide just get both, ha! I'm gonna have to sell some prints to fund it but I think it will be worth it, I've decided now I can't be holding onto so many pieces of paper and would rather try and work towards originals (or pseudo-originals in this case)
Will you be going to Taipei?

Adam Neate - 'Dimensional Editions & Paintings' , by Dice on Oct 29, 2012 14:42:07 GMT 1, Thought I'd share some pics of the Hug, got it home last week. It has actually been made with thicker perspex than originally intended, 5mm instead of 3 I think so its heavier, chunkier and there is a bit more of a shadow...also nice to see they have been hand signed by neate on the back!
Split baton arrangement for hanging
And up on the wall!
