I suppose you could say she's just flavour of the month at the moment, just like stinkfish, moustache man, Adam Batchelor, Byung, that guy who does those silly childish steve character pieces.....the list is long.

Sandra Chevrier, by DameHoracia on Jul 10, 2013 0:16:42 GMT 1, I think she is talented, I purchased two of her paintings. These days I do wonder what the longevity of any new artist will be. But if you like their work I have to try to base it on on that.. Not going to pretend that I wouldn't be happy if the paintings grow in value on my walls over the years - something to leave the kids in the family...

Sandra Chevrier, by Poesia on Jul 10, 2013 1:30:36 GMT 1, Technically it looks ok but its hard to really get a grasp of this type of painting in person. It could be illustrative or painterly. I prefer the painterly. I am always cautious of illustrative types. It is much better than alot of other art on this forum that seems to be collected. I am still grasping what exactly this forums definition of Urban art is. This in my opinion would be contemporary art if anything. The comic book thing has been exhausted and its a shame because she really can paint it seems.
Why is there no Contemporary art category on this forum. Obviously you guys appreciate that type of work why lump it all into Urban Art. It does the name such an injustice. This is a major reason why artists steer away from labels because artists like this getting lumped together with them.

Sandra Chevrier, by dazarino on Jul 10, 2013 11:00:34 GMT 1, I think this forum is a great way to put new artists out there and most people on this forum know where a good investment can be found.Truth is with Sandra's work, we just don't know,as she has not been around long enough or had many shows to back it up, so I think this is a case of if you want it on your wall and you like the work, which I do, it's worth buying as its still very affordable. Sometimes it's all down to taste.

Sandra Chevrier, by Graffiti Prints on Jul 10, 2013 12:53:04 GMT 1, Her pieces are really nice and well thought out.
I personally see her rising fast as her work hangs very well both in galleries and in homes.
I always look at will work look good hung up in a house and is it a commercial image that people would want to buy and she ticks all the boxes for me I was gutted she did a print with studio 16 and not us as I love her work and would have found it a challenge to print. To keep all the colour and definition of her originals
She has been posting up canvases that are stunning on Facebook.

She is currently in a group show in Las Vegas (Amanda Harris Gallery) and Stavanger, Norway (Reed Projects). She has an upcoming duo show with Lora Zombie at Phone Booth Gallery in L.A. and a solo again at Reed Projects, a group show I forget where in Australia and a solo in Dallas... I think. She has worked with Mirus Gallery in San Francisco so I wouldn't be surprised if she had something in the works with them too. Let's just say she is booked well into 2014.

Sandra Chevrier, by randomname on Aug 19, 2013 20:54:49 GMT 1, I wasn't a fan of her work at first. But it grew on me and I saw a print I liked enough to buy it. I have to say I'm disappointed in the print quality. She uses a CMYK 4-color silkscreen process. The end result looks like a bad offset print.

The hand-painted elements also look like a bad offset print. They should have been printed as separate screens is that's what she was going for.
