Faking the tiled design and signature is not very difficult ino. But thr package requires a bit more logistic and samples in hands. For your information. You email Orbi with pics and thye will tell you if it s a fake or not. They assuere me that there were only 2 kits with fake serie : the Vienna one or the Blue one running, and the Albinos ( maybe I wrong, can't find their mail ) . The one that I had, legend one from Paris was a great one - I am still crying after , lol - : package should be closed, and writing on the paper as hte other ones ).
There is a thread with pictures about it. this is one of orbi/Invader ' s anwer :
" Do not worry, this kit looks very authentic: IK 10 is indeed covered with paper printed on the back (like most kits for that matter), these cut marks are ours, the inscription on the thermostatic bag is the right one ...
Moreover, the fake ones we identified did not concern this model there. "

Obviously an email receipt can be faked, best to stick to buying with original packaging but there is lots and lots without it. I binned mine but sold my only kit a while ago. Prices get higher the problem gets worse. When I sold mine, it was an half that what it costs today too ;( Art life and death... Does anyone have a resource or maybe a previous post or photos they could share on what to look for on a fake kit? Obviously original purchase receipt and shipping material is preferred but sometimes in the 2nd 3rd 4th owne that isnt feasible. So what else should I be looking out for? What about signed invader kits?
I bougth a kit years ago. I just emailed orbi with pictures and identity of the seller. Got an ok on the kit and a confirmation that the name was known.

my question is - how can you be sure this is a fake solely based on price/no reserve? art market pricing shifts quite dramatically in relation to the overall economy which is moving at record rates...as do individuals' need to perhaps unload based on their own personal financial needs. also, i would be super interested if you happened to screenshot any other photos from that particular post you flagged (ie of the back side). obviously there are many fakes circulating, and id like to be comfortable that mine is legit.
that said, any thoughts / advice would be greatly appreciated.

If your kit has been bought 10 years ago, it is most likely authentic as there were very fiew fakew then. Prices were too low.
About the one on ebay, suppose that you want to sale yours. You have the possibility to call any skilled gallery, they will offer you โฌ15k at least... what would you do, sell it on ebay for 5k ?
Of course I have also other tricks to distinguish fakes/authentic kits (also on this one) but that I won't give.
This is my opinion, nobody has to believe me

And I totally get it. That one had sold for 15k+ USD, which I understood to be fair. Im considering selling mine, and Id rather not get shamed for selling at a similar price! Haha. I dont know. Hard to make these calls, Im sure. But I guess there's also a fine line, as a claim like this could also potentially damage the reputation of a legitimate seller too. Doing a public service sometimes can be tricky. All the same, you are appreciated. Best to ya.
