D*face is this week too.... I saw the new originals and the pricing for this show the other day. aim waiting on the smaller pieces. but there are killer collage and wood panel pieces. lys of good stuff. wall hugger is nice and priced right too.

It will be fun to see if anyone here gets the confirmation. So far I havent read anything on how the decision on who's getting the print will be made. If it's for the first 250 who signed up, then it guess it's long gone.
But based on how he said registration through Sunday 21st, it could mean it ends with a lottery or something.
Haven't heard of anyone getting the GO.

No prints were released for the show here in LA. I confirmed that several weeks ago.

The set of 10 prints released last years were selling at $450,000 HKD, almost double of the released price.

But this thread is about Kaws and i got bored reading about the cost....my point was simply that great art doesn't cost a fortune until you say who is it by. If i like a tune i dance to it!

I'm reading an interesting book at the moment, something like The Supermodel and the soap box. Talks a bit about why people buy art, what motivates the buyer and what purpose it serves. I'm loving the book so far. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in the economics of the art market. I know I'm way off topic at the moment but it is somewhat related because it goes to why people would like the KAWS print enough to pay that much money vs other less expensive art. |
