Lots of people, myself included, believe that it's best to leave street art as it was intended. So not covered in Perspex or protected until a buyer is found. Decay, buffing, and other deterioration is part and parcel of the ephemeral nature of street art and graffitti.
That's my view. I would not be so impertinent as to reply for badrobot.

Understood and I do agree with you, but perhaps I am now acting as the more concerned admirer. Most admirers do not have the chance to have a Banksy or even see some of his works. If his work gets protected, by visiting they still do have the chance to see his work. I mean, I know lots of people in the Netherlands that would like to see his work on the streets, but do not always have the chance to see it immediately before it gets buffed. If it is protected they still do have the chance. |
