I don't think its meaning is as instantly clear and understandable as everyone might like to believe.
That's no bad thing (the fact that folk have to think about it) but - if it's passing comment on buffed tagging being desirable as collectable/museum pieces, I'm still none the wiser as to what it's saying on that subject.

New Banksy Street work - 09/28/14, by doyle on Sept 29, 2014 18:22:10 GMT 1, this new banksy piece reminded me of a piece i saw by Mobstr at his show show, titled 'nothings changed' how the abstraction of a tag is no different from Theo Van Doesbourg 'Abstraction of a Cow' in 1913.
not sure where i'm going with this, but a ref to the consumerist nature of street art & that there is no longer a boundary anymore between what is considered art and what is not?
either way, Banksy has now gone abstract on us
