This, in fact, was my first thought this morning which makes me question his overall skills but also his movement somewhat ?

Measured, then off to the studio, where ? To knock up a stencil, how long was the original grey buff there for him to know that it wasn't going to change prior to him adding the piece to the wall ........

Questions ?

LOL, beats the perspex hands down

Having calmed down and thought about it, he could have altered the height of the plinth stencil with just a pair of safety scissors and some tape, so it might not have needed too much time (or measuring) to match it to the buff.

I'm now impressed that he carried extra paint just for the buttons on the tape player. A lesser artist could have just left them black and white.

Question. Obviously not talking about murals etc.. talking about middle of night stealth missions/ classed as illegal and if caught will get arrested. Are there any other street artists out there that get their "illegal" work covered/protected for posterity or is it just banksy?

Would have been nice to see a local artist add a piece of work properly to the top of the plinth, missing the old dear............

Just goes to show what the council can do if they put their mind to it.

I used to live round the corner from this ( if the Highbury version). Used to love seeing what people put in the frame as it regularly changed.

At Folkestone people are gentlemen and respectful. They are all very nice ! it s like this in the borders ' towns, particulary this one.. I love Calais too... We can fell iodus and departure to nowwhere... Travels, fresh air, beers...

I thought it was a Martin Whatson of something, didn't Banksy do this kind of thing a few years back?

C'mon Folkestone give us something FFS!! We are use to every day excitement from the New York residency. Something on the lines of - 'there are 4 nasty members of the Folkstone Bloods guarding the piece and charging people 20 pound for a photograph..until pensioners Frank, Gerald and Colin who were playing don at the working mans club across said 'we are not putting up with this s**t, this is our manor', finished thier pints,steamed across the road throwing bottles and wielding bar stools. After a few blows the 'bloods' done a runner'. The council moved in and framed the piece with 40mm bullet proof Perspex and a council plaque..
