Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Neate Michael on Mar 11, 2020 11:06:05 GMT 1, Obviously when doing his Banksy project, Laz found a few boxes of Di-faced tenners (is the charitable explanation).
As much as he wants to be known for doing other s**t, he will always be the ex-manager of Banksy.

Morning I guess give it a shot because the Tenners have been consistently going for around that recently. Don't think anyone would buy the prints at those prices but the Tenners seem to be around that price and more.
Not sure whats priceless about it? We were asked if we wanted 50 more. We said yes. If people want to purchase it, this is how we are doing it this time.
The first time we knew what our friends were personally paying for it and sort of matched it with a frame. Now we are pricing it so that the people who purchased the first time are good and its still under what they are going for.
As everyone seems to mention like the previous release, there are 100,000 of them. Between the 3 places that publicly sold, there are less the 1% with signed Laz provenances.
When we originally planned it, we added the seal and the hologram as an extra way for that not to happen. I believe Gallart did the same too.
Think that was Gallart? They release theirs around that time period. We don't really goto any fairs.

You can't blame him for selling them this way all he has to do is sign the COA
I'd sign all 100,000 of them if it was me
This is never going to be the last lot not in a million years, why would he stop

Yep, easy money for him. I wonder if he's been waiting for this day, for the old genuine tenners to be out of circulation. Saying that it's still illegal to replicate old style notes, even if they have been altered without permission from the bank of England.

This Sothebys lot must be worth over 100k if the unsigned singles are worth £1,500.
Mind you i have seen "single" ones sell in auctions from 500 to a couple of grand, but not in a batch of 200!

I think its safe to say he doesn't have 98% of all the Tenners and as a collector, I would personally want one before it hits that mark. Then there is no chance to get them correct?
And I know it sounds off coming from a business that sold them but again this was just a fun project for us to be a part of. No one has to buy them.
We were personally told this was the last small batch given out. I don't know if more people got them at the end of last year but we trust our guy that helped us do this.
yea watching this one.

I have no bad feelings to you or any gallery that are selling these for any amount of money. I'm just trying to make it clear to any potential buyers exactly what they are buying into. If Laz has just 10% of the tenners, then that is 10,000 that he could eventually sell on. He has just released his book in 3 different editions in a very short time to maximise his profits. I have no problem with that either, just sayin Laz is a businessman, who will rake in as much as he can.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by bottlenecknyc on Mar 11, 2020 13:09:22 GMT 1, 1000%. Technically we were the first ones to publicly sell it so that was seriously the conversation the entire time. Trying to explain to ppl what the sale was about. We know there was 100,000. That wasn't the point. The point of the sale was getting it into the hands of people who hesitated buying one from the secondary market because it could be fake. While doing that it sort of caused a new market to form for those Tenners.

Probably from Laz as well. It will fetch good money, but there are a lot of Banksy prints I would rather have on my wall than this.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by irl1 on Mar 11, 2020 13:21:45 GMT 1, I think the Peckham Rock is a better buy (not because i have a good few of them) because they look better than the tenners, only 15,000 of them, made of wood and a lot cheaper to buy.
Also have "Courtesy of Pest Control Office, Banksy Peckham Rock 2005" on the back of them

I think your initial batch were a fair price to a collector for a framed genuine tenner with provenance. Andipa charging £1500 for an unframed tenner is insane in my view though.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by bottlenecknyc on Mar 11, 2020 13:32:36 GMT 1, Trust me guys Im just here talking about the other side of it and what we were personally told. It helps to hear another side of it. I would be in the same boat but its definitely not as many as ppl think.
I imagine they have their own clientele list. I know two people who put it on Catawiki and sold them for around $3k.
Whenever we do sales, there is always a chance of ppl putting it on Ebay right away when they receive it. That definitely happened here. When we saw this at first we didn't understand because Ebay is technically the worst place to sell these. Your goal if it was to sell eventually would be to get it into a lot where other Banksy items are being sold and a place where they have a clientele list that would pay a higher price for it. Im imagining Andipa has that base.

I don't usually come on here to post. Just more lurk then anything. I'm more vocal on EB and FB. However, when I do see negative confusion I would like to give another side to it. Thats not what we are about.
I do feel that a majority do appreciate the honesty. There are people that are definitely not use to it. The people that have supported us for 8 years know that everything we do is done with good intentions.
I do talk to ppl like they're humans and I'm not trying to selling anything thats up to you guys to buy. Denzil actually posted our blog so thank you to Denzil for that promotion. Even though its tough to respond to him while looking at the avatar.

Actually we weren't. We knew going into the first one that others had it. Now we have a little more still knowing that others had it. I personally would not put it on ebay. To be honest, we don't have to do this and can just submit to auction houses but thats not fun to us.

I still have two framed up and love em, although the other half likes to hide them away every now and again😕 Pest Control are probably running out which is maybe why they are changing the Coa's now. Or they realise that every COA is potentially costing them £1.5k 🤣

Or they realise that every COA is potentially costing them £1.5k 🤣 Same. I have two prior ones in the money holders.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by craigthemole on Mar 11, 2020 14:06:37 GMT 1, bottlenecknyc is there any reason the single frames are a tighter frame compared to the double note frame? I quite like the look of seeing the entire note with space around, which you get with the double.

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by irl1 on Mar 11, 2020 14:10:38 GMT 1, well now your been fucked over by Steve put yours on ebay auction' and and throw the dice 'you may come up trumps Your avatar is killing me lol Actually we weren't. We knew going into the first one that others had it. Now we have a little more still knowing that others had it. I personally would not put it on ebay. To be honest, we don't have to do this and can just submit to auction houses but thats not fun to us. Yeh bird in the hand is worth two in the bush
I would do the online sale and not the auction. You wait for a month to be paid after the auction only to be told the buyer never paid.
The catawiki ones were the last lot you sold framed. The buyers put them straight up and sold for around 3,000 euro each.
I seen a tenner go in Heritage for $5,750 including fees with no provenance in 2017. They also sold a batch of ten with a letter from Laz for over $6,000 including fees in 2018. Now how can anyone work out a value from those two results in the same auction house.
You are right the price on these is all over the place

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Deleted on Mar 11, 2020 19:46:27 GMT 1, I think your initial batch were a fair price to a collector for a framed genuine tenner with provenance. Andipa charging £1500 for an unframed tenner is insane in my view though. Agreed. It makes you dislike Banksy art, not him personally, but when you see the sellers of his unreleased works, like these tenners that were sitting in a box, from people he has influence over, price gouging fans and taking away from what the artist stands for, the irony takes away from wanting to own his pieces. If Banksy really stands for the people, he should cock slap these greedy lil. Ass clown bitches and force them to sell it via lottery to ALL PEOPLE. Even my sons kid show gets that, what’s it called, Moana or something. What happens on the secondhand market should stay on the secondhand market. But this is supposedly undistributed. So fuuuuk these greedy bastards and the horse they rode in on!
How is he going to 'force' Laz to do anything?
Beat him up?

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by iamzero on Mar 11, 2020 20:20:41 GMT 1, I think the simplest way of looking at this is to pretend you’re a businessman with a huge box of £1000 notes... how much should you sell them for to people you don’t know that potentially want to sell them on for a future profit?

Banksy £10 • Di-Faced Tenner, by Pappy Van Sprinkle on Mar 11, 2020 21:39:25 GMT 1, I don't see a problem up until the point where Andipa decided to charge $600 more than the OG BNG release. In the grand scheme of things, I don't think Laz could have made the biggest profit (so far - who knows how far this will go), and I think BNG set a fair price at the first release for people like me who wanted to get a tenner without worrying about framing it or authenticity. I think people should be happy there are tenners with provenance popping up. Apparently this generated enough of a market/hype to crank the prices up each release, and it looks like Andipa took advantage, but I don't think that reflects poorly on BNG.
Regardless, I'm enjoying my BNG tenner...but this double framed version has me wishing...
