Well if your piece was handmade it is an original! Artists make variations of the same piece all the time and they are all originals.

I understand very well that you are upset about not getting what you were shown and there seems to have been some very bad communication from the artists side here and they need to up their game. I hope you can sort it out with them personally and to your satisfaction. I think public naming and shaming for matters like this is very distasteful and as is getting the lynch mob out by fuelling all this speculation. All the best of luck!
