Sandra Chevrier - Original on canvas, by Shoot Again on Jun 22, 2015 11:57:57 GMT 1, Nice but a little caution on this. The seller is creating a bidding war via pm. I dont like this tactic as it is not transparent. This listing says offers on it, not a bidding war PMing others with the amount. Those sending offers just be aware. I have removed my offers completely. Nice work Fะฏ, calling the seller out accusing him of arranging a bidding war (is that wrong if the artworks is in such demand as you pretend it is ?), to the point the seller dent nearly apologise for not following any rule (set by you ?!?) and arranged a not-that-smart (if you ask me) open auction on here with pretty much nobody looking at it (not everybody can be in front of their screen on a monday morning !).
No doubt you eventually won it (no idea how good or bad the end price is, it's not my point...) ! I'd say, definitely VERY well played from you, you know how to use every card in here ;-) Exactly the kind of help newbies must expect from a Forum Guardian, right ?!? Genius I have to admit ...

Sandra Chevrier - Original on canvas, by dent on Jun 23, 2015 18:17:56 GMT 1, Hello.
Just to clarify a bit. All the bidding was in ยฃ. First I posted that I was gong to end the bidding around twelve o`clock on Monday. A few minutes before 12 I posted that I was going to end the bidding in 15 minutes, to give everybody a heads up. And I did end it after 15 minutes. It was FR who had the highest offer at 1850ยฃ, so he will be the new owner of the canvas. Like it or not.
That being said, I didn't predict that this sale (my first sale here) would end up in a discussion about the use of words, or turning out with people blaming each other for different things. I had hoped the forum was a place were people with the same interest trusted each other, and art could change hands between like minded people.
In my opinion it's fair for all parties that the highest bidder gets the right to buy the item that's for sale. If someone is willing to pay more than you for a canvas then its your own fault, not everybody elses. I can see that bidding processes on PM can be a trust challenge when you don't know who your bidding against, or if the seller are playing you. But still it's the buyers own choice to place a bid.
I'm new to this forum, and I would have appreciated if somebody could clarify for me how I should sell here in the future without stepping on anybody's toes, but still get as good price as possible.
Dent

For me the winner was the person with the highest bid at the end.

You've been played by a Forum Guardian but don't seem to fully realize it. Good for you if you're happy with the price you've got (pretty much the only thing that should matter to YOU) but next time I'd recommend you to be a bit more careful on how your Thread is evolving as it's obvious you could have had a much better price for it. Ending a open auction on a week day in the middle of the morning when so few forumites are online is never really the best strategy. Glad you're happy, the new owner certainly is as well !

Sandra Chevrier - Original on canvas, by lucky7 on Jun 23, 2015 22:08:47 GMT 1, This is one of the most authentic and transparent sales threads I have seen here. Congratulations dent. In the future make your sales whichever way you want, don't let others influence you. The price is good. Some people, maybe unwillingly and or unkowingly, are poisoning your heart, making you feel bad for suppossedly underselling at a lower and bargain price. Don't pay attention to those words.
You got more than what you wanted, you made a return on investment, you kept your word, you were clear, transparent and gracious. You did good. Don't change. Congratulations!
