Somewhat related.. As much as I despise the markup and inability for me to buy direct, I don't think flipping a charity print is worse than flipping any other print. The beneficiary doesn't get any more or less money based on purchaser intent. Tired of hearing about that. It's petulant. The exception is if you somehow limit the funds going to the beneficiary - otherwise, they're just helping it sell out and support the cause.

If they wanted to do that you can just give ยฃ500 to the place. I dont think its worth kidding you/our selves that it will be anything otherwise. There are many many good people on here always prepared to do other people favours...even queuing all day for a most sought after piece, typically for the same favour in return or a complimentary drink and sometimes even just for love. I have seen it all happen on here and that is the best way to operate within this community.
And if you track Stik's market then you would see that rarely does a print rocket after the initial hype, Liberty peaked at about ยฃ750 and then languished around ยฃ450 - ยฃ500 mark for quite a while, and this will no doubt go the same way.... establishing a flippers market before the event is not the way to go (IMO) - especially here

There will be the hypers trying to make people believe that if they don't buy at the likely double cost they'll be listed on eBay for that they will miss out but the reality is prices will settle pretty quickly. There will always be a mark-up on secondary but don't be rushed into panic buying

Well done Stik for giving us another great image and well done for the giving 100% of the proceeds to Homerton Hospital. Lots of artists out there at present but you will struggle to find one that does so much for highlighting social inequalities and injustice but also making everyone smile when you turn a corner and see one of his street pieces

here's how I plan to frame it.
First, I would like to get one. It has been suggested that I bet on kindness and idealism to do that, so I'm going that route. All these capitalistic suckers and their money are evil.
Then I would like to frame it similarly to the other Stik prints that I have sourced and framed. I plan to use a white mat with a bevel over a black mat to accent. The Baby will be float mounted on the black mat. I will use museum glass and a black contemporary molding to really pull on the heartstrings.
Then, after all that excitement, I will "potentially keep it".

I explained that they may just have a few people turn up on the day and I think she detected the irony in what I was saying. The guy who is organising wasn't there today, but my guess is this event will have to be ticketed in some way.

The guy who is organising wasn't there today, but my guess is this event will have to be ticketed in some way.
