Personally at £500 and one per person I don't think crowds will be that big , the panic and fret caused on here might think it's a banksy release.
Comparing to the foyles book launch is not just as they were only £20 each
Stiks other event releases years ago were only £50 and £100 each
Think the artist has judged his market right as all releases are around 100 in total .

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Even at £500 it seems a reasonable price for such a large and limited/low edition print. Also a very popular image and for charity. No brainer if you don't mind a long and probably frustrating queue.

I have to say I agree. The only advantage this has over Diva/Walk/Single Mum is that it may be possible, if you can be in the right place at the right time, to procure one. This is, however, a very significant advantage, and may be enough, if I can find a way out of work, to draw me to Homerton. If I had one or more of those three, though, I think I'd be leaving this one alone.

Ever been to London or seen any of Stik's work in person? If you did maybe you might have a different view as a lot of it has a message relating to it's surrounding. I'm not aware either of any artist that does more for charity. Maybe Swoon?? But nevertheless Stik is yet again doing a release that will be 100% to benefit the local community, so he's hardly laughing to the bank and even if he has made a few quid it's thoroughly deserved. Never seen Punk'd (sic) but if it's MTV it's probably a load of...

Stik has been painting for so long now - he deserves every success whether if it is for charity or not. he has earnt it imo.

Never been to London. I do not need to in order to look at stick figures like his. They are being drawn by millions of kids in school and for fun as we speak. I understand he does things for charity and thats fantastic BUT his work lacks meaning and depth. It must be a European taste that I just do not get. People would never believe his work sells for more then $25 here in the US. If I had this on my wall, I would just get laughed at that I even have this on my wall and I would probably get locked up for paying the prices people pay for his work.

What are you talking about? Do you have kids? Kids have been doing this for ages. Better question would be "Did someone who is calling themselves a serious "artist" actually dupe people into buying this". Like I said in another thread, this must be something Europeans are into like "Norwegians are into Whatson" because this is done millions times a day in schools from children all over the world. No one in there right mind would call this art and try to sell it here in the US.

The term "Starving artist" would be applied to this type artist who makes this type of art. I think this might do well in swap meets here in the US. AND YES, he is laughing his ass to the bank for selling "artwork" that children do on a daily basis and charging retarded prices for something that has no future value. The fact that the printing process takes longer then the actual art work is scary to say the least. You think his art has future value? How can his artistic ability progress if all he does is a stick figure either sleeping or standing. Maybe he adds more then one stick figure? WHOA watch out. The guy is def on his way to being one of the greats.

Davie boy - You might want to check out what Picasso said about children and art - something about him reaching the peak of his talents if he could replicate the art of a child.
