The Barry McGee artist's talk was actually pretty good. Barry gets pretty nervous talking in front of crowds and he didn't focus too much on his own work, rather it was a history of graffiti and the rules of it (throwups go over tags etc...). There were a couple hecklers in the crowd who tried to give him sh*t for tagging on trucks and "selling out" by putting stuff in galleries. There are those types everywhere I suppose though.
Skateboarder Ed Templeton also showed a few pictures. If you don't know who he is check him out on the Roberts and Tilton site. Claire Rojas also played a song at the end. In all honesty I would have rather had her show a couple slides of her own artwork instead, but thats just my opinion.

I mean its Barry Mcgee/Twist on our fair shores. I would like to go just to see if he has done any local street work, stickers or Twister tags in Newcastle.
One of my shots from Shoreditch about 2 years ago...
Im just not sure weather its worth the 5 or 6 hour drive... Hmmmmm.

Thats ยฃ2500 more than I have right now im afraid (Sobs onto his keyboard) Im hoping there may be something affordable for me at the show... A print perhaps? Stickers? Would be nice.

At the "Easy Tonto" exhibition at Modern art gallery in Hackney a couple of years ago there were small screen prints for sale (Unsigned and in the form of his obscure bright coloured chequered graphic) so maybe.... Just maybe there will be something affordable. I guess you never know.

I only have one problem with McGee ,and that is i can't afford any of his work its just to much cash for me
