Donald Trump, by Poster Bob on Nov 6, 2024 16:17:54 GMT 1, To be fair to the people of America, it was a tough call choosing to decide between electing a racist serial sex offender with 34 felony convictions and the IQ of a hotdog, or a politician. And the Democratic Party, really the cabal, whoever they are, chose that milquetoast, word-salad loving loser. Just think what might have been had they allowed a true primary, and let the people select the best person for the job. Instead, we were initially offered an ice-cream-loving, baby-biting zombie, and were then told to be ecstatic over an inept VP. Iโd say โhopefully theyโve learned their lesson nowโ, but they didnโt learn after torpedoing Bernie and making Hillary the candidate. This was preventable.

I believe even if everything transpired how it did, but Shapiro was chosen in place of Walz, we'd have seen blue in the rust belt and quite possibly a Harris government. Eitherway, the election is over - hopefully positive change can come in international politics, ending the diabolical bloodsheds and injustices going on. I won't hold my breath.

I was at Trump's first inauguration to protest. The crowds weren't huge. Ever been to a big event where your phone doesn't work because the cell towers are overloaded? Well, at the inauguration, my phone worked perfectly. But at the women's march the next day, which was massive, my phone was useless. While waiting at the airport to go home, I saw the news showing a photo of the inauguration with huge crowds. I'm sure it was altered. My photos show significant empty spaces on the National Mall, and Metro ridership was lower than for past inaugurations. I also believe the total turnout was about half the size of Obama's first inauguration.
I'm not sure the lack of turnout is Trump's faultโhe did win the popular vote. But DC is surrounded by blue states, so it's quite a trek for folks from red states.

But if that's how they choose to vote, we will live with the consequences good, bad, or otherwise.
Ironically enough, this just arrived a few minutes ago from Amplifier. I don't think I realized how big it is (30x41 inches). So appropriate that I unpacked it on this day in US history/infamy.

Donald Trump, by LJCal on Nov 6, 2024 22:25:33 GMT 1, The degree of hysteria over this is quite troubling, Trump is a moron unfortunately and not fit for office but despite what people think he's not the next Hitler and many of his more wild ideas still need to be executed by the "blob', if it's a fight between Trump and the blob i'm betting on the blob. Harris was unelectable, the Democrats have allowed themselves to be pulled into nonsense identity politics and ignore the real issues people care about, like paying the bills and not getting shot. If anything Trump has done them a massive favour by reminding them that like it or not the US is a pretty conservative country overall with a huge number of very disenfranchised people, ones who historically would have voted democrat and need real life improvements not virtue signalling. They need to come back to the centre, develop policy that appeals to middle America and put forward a candidate that doesn't get people's back up, Clinton and Harris were not the rights choices, I think the US could elect a woman but not those two, both were very divisive and not even that popular in their own party. Trust me the US will have a new president in 4 years and will swing back to the centre, Trump's an idiot but not the anti-christ. as controversial as it may be to some he will probably do a better job than Harris on multiple fronts, especially if you're an American.

Curious to see where this will lead us. Iโm sure in a while a counterforce is needed, so please unite at that time and do the necessary.

Donald Trump, by its all about me on Nov 7, 2024 11:28:23 GMT 1, On Truth Social, Trump tweeted that there was mass fraud going on at counting the votes in Pennsylvania. That was, of course, before he won the state. He was covering his bets so, if he lost, the useful idiots in his fan club would riot and not accept the outcome. Officials stated there was no irregularities and nobody has raised any concerns about fraud etc. Trump was lying. And he knew he was lying. That's what makes him unfit for office. It's not the policies that are necessarily the problem. It's him as a person. He's a despicable human being. I don't understand why Americans can't see through him. Most Europeans look upon Trump as a fool. Rather than making America great again, he is making America a lighting stock in the eyes of the rest of the world.

I do fear the increased influence of Elon Musk who is an intelligent but loose cannon and proper hardcore. Not a good combination if you are on his wrong side.

Donald Trump, by Smokeidaeye on Nov 7, 2024 18:43:18 GMT 1, I guess Elon will be buying Truth Social app, surely you canโt own a social network and be our president?
You would think so, but you would also think that a convicted felon couldn't be president.
As for the comment above about the Democrat party being i disarray/not knowing who they are, I think the Republican party has a much harder road ahead when they are no longer living in fear of pissing off Trump's base. It has become sad to watch how hard they have to twist themselves to brush off his behavior, including having to quickly flip-flop after calling him out on January 6th but then having to rush to Mar-a-Lardo to kiss the ring when he tweeted about them while using his latest childish nick-name. The party of Reagan is now the party of one man's ego.
And while I agree that Hillary was a bad choice, I don't know that the Democrats had much of a choice other than the VP when Biden dropped out with only 100 days to go until the election. It's easy to second guess things like the VP pick (though even picking Shapiro likely wouldn't have won her the other swing states), but she did as much as she could in a short period of time while also facing the fact that a large part of our country don't think a woman can be tough enough to run a country. Trump is nuts and rambles like a demented old man but they like that he talks tough and that he calls out the "scary others".
The ACTUAL reasons for a shockingly decisive lost are that Biden shouldn't have run in the first place, thus allowing someone who isn't in the current administration be named as the candidate. And second is the economy. I personally don't feel it but I live in a bubble whereas the bulk of the country HAS struggled to make ends meet. Inflation had nothing to do with Biden (it is the result of COVID) but people need someone to blame for their hardships and he & Harris were the fall guys. AND they beleive that the strong pre-COVID economy actually had something to do with anything Trump did in those first few months, not that he was handed that economy by Obama. They also love his "plan" to turn things around using tariffs, but that is just sheer ignorance as to who ACTUALLY suffers from them. Foreign countries do not eat those extra costs, they pass them along to the retailers who then pass them along to the consumer. AND they implement their own tariffs on goods imported from the US, thus severally harming our small businesses who rely on global sales. That said, we'll see if he ever actually implements them. I think he simply didn't have a plan to reduce the cost of goods so he latched onto that blanket term "tariffs." It's like saying Mexico will pay for the wall. It sounds good at a rally but it is completely detached from reality.
At least I have a daughter who lives in Canada and has a couch for us should he run wild with his new unchecked power.

At least I have a daughter who lives in Canada and has a couch for us should he run wild with his new unchecked power.

Donald Trump, by artlike on Nov 7, 2024 20:19:28 GMT 1, I guess Elon will be buying Truth Social app, surely you canโt own a social network and be our president?

Classic delusional view of the situation. You are so far from the truth it supports the only part of what you wrote that made sense, you live in a bubble. But so do most people, especially in Europe. When are people going to wake up?
I think any American who wants to move to Canada should go there. As that is where they deserve to be. I would love it if they did. Most of America would love it if they did.
Oh, and stop spreading misinformation. Covid did not cause inflation, governments printing a fk ton of cash and locking down supply chains caused inflation. You and Dive Jedi can ChatGPT that when you're queuing up to get your boosters.
People like you are the reason Trump got elected.

Donald Trump, by its all about me on Nov 7, 2024 21:08:55 GMT 1, I recently found out that JD Vance once called Trump "America's Hitler". But, of course, he is realistic enough to know that if you want to get ahead in politics (or even just keep your job) you have to put your principles aside and suck up to Trump these days.
It makes me wonder how many other Republicans are doing the same.
