I am not part of a clique and if my opinion coincides with other or others forum members posts or does not coincide with other member or members forum post then thats just too bad. ย From what I have seen on here by some of the comments and responses some of you self appointed forum guardians need to grow up and realise that not everyone has the same view of aspects of art, teh art world, urban art, urban art works and stuff like that. I do not give a f**k about any expresso beans or what happened on expresso beans. ย What it does look like is that some on here maybe had an issue with some on another forum or in the past and because I have agreed with some of Saucy Jacks posts and poste don his threads an I can see through a certain amount of hype on here and selling technique. You have decided to have a go at me via having a go at another member. ย I have only had one forum id and unlike some on here who jumped ship when a certain member PM's members on here in private to join a newly set up forum which is very similar to this one. Why do people like Stik?, by Deleted on Jan 9, 2016 15:07:19 GMT 1, Because of Stik's work with The Big Issue, I actually had to talk to the vendors. Like properly talk to them. Before that, I would have usually paid them and then scurried away.
I met a large Scotsman that has been living in a local car park for 5 years. He had the dermatitis to go with it unfortunately. And knowing how it bugged me, whenever I saw him after that, whether I was buying or not, he would insist on shaking my hand. He kept saying how he had a plan to go south, where it was warmer. I haven't seen him for about a year. I hope he's ok wherever he is.
I also met a lovely Romanian lady. She insists on kissing me whenever I see her. I sometimes buy her a coffee and always seem to manage to mess up her order. She's really polite about it though. I now know a few words in Romanian. What I think is "Hello, how are you today?" is probably in reality "You idiot, why have you given me 3 sugars again?"
One guy, I passed for years. Turns out he's from California. He came here to marry his partner. But then the marriage broke down, and with no family or friends in the US to help him, he's been here for about 15 years.
These are real people. We all have hopes, fears, needs, problems, etc. I hate people at the best of times. But that's one of my problems. Stik and that silly "collect all the colours" thing made me talk to people I wouldn't normally want to. And because of that, I think of them as people now. And they insist on touching me. I think it's good, even healthy to make contact with people. To acknowledge that we're all the same. I think it's vital to learn about others. leave a mark on others. Admittedly hopefully a positive mark.
Sounds really f**king daft, but it's how I feel.
Oh, and one guy told me that a handshake was all he could offer me. That comment has always stuck with me. Many of us are just a couple of bad decisions, an accident or poor mental health period away from being on the street or in need of assistance from others.
Anyway, that's one of the reasons why I like Stik. That and I bought a new house from selling all those Big Issue posters (joke).

I do like the fact that this forum allows new artists to post their art and altho it's not OK for some to have an opinion about art that is very commercialised and promted for it's investment potential.
It seems OK to have an opinion about new artists who make art for it's artistic value.
Andrew lamberty that spiv type bloke in Pimlico who sells Stik art and cut up the container that had Stiks mural on it asking over 10 for each piece I guess must be a big lover of Stiks art too. After all he has a whole load of Stiks art that he bought or obtained and he is doing the world a favour by trying to re sell the art for a huge profit to anyone who walks into his shop. He is probably doing the buyers a favour because he is only asking thousands not the tens of thousands that the buyer could end up with when they buy the Stiks from him today as after all as we are told so many times. This art is the next big thing and by paying thousands today it will not only improve ones chi but make one "potentially" a lot of money in the future.
If only bernard madhoff was an art dealer.
It's great mentioning the big prices that Stik prints have achieved on Ebay without mentioning who sold the piece on Ebay and who bought it, whether it was an illusion or real.
Plus there are plenty of unsold Stiks on Ebay too.
There always will be. Its Ebay it's huge it's global. A lot of these prints go round in circles and there have been so many produced by artists and galleries ythat in reality it is a buyers market. It's not a selelrs market even for urban and street art ltd editions.
I respect Stik the man and his social attitude.

I do like the fact that this forum allows new artists to post their art and altho it's not OK for some to have an opinion about art that is very commercialised and promted for it's investment potential. It seems OK to have an opinion about new artists who make art for it's artistic value. Andrew lamberty that spiv type bloke in Pimlico who sells Stik art and cut up the container that had Stiks mural on it asking over 10 for each piece I guess must be a big lover of Stiks art too. After all he has a whole load of Stiks art that he bought or obtained and he is doing the world a favour by trying to re sell the art for a huge profit to anyone who walks into his shop. He is probably doing the buyers a favour because he is only asking thousands not the tens of thousands that the buyer could end up with when they buy the Stiks from him today as after all as we are told so many times. This art is the next big thing and by paying thousands today it will not only improve ones chi but make one "potentially" a lot of money in the future. If only bernard madhoff was an art dealer. It's great mentioning the big prices that Stik prints have achieved on Ebay without mentioning who sold the piece on Ebay and who bought it, whether it was an illusion or real. Plus there are plenty of unsold Stiks on Ebay too. There always will be. Its Ebay it's huge it's global. A lot of these prints go round in circles and there have been so many produced by artists and galleries ythat in reality it is a buyers market. It's not a selelrs market even for urban and street art ltd editions. I respect Stik the man and his social attitude. I do not respect the people whose motive is purely money taking advantage of artists and their art. |

And clear that the only way that place can survive is by repeatedly coming back to try and incite people and poach our members. All very underhand but when it suits them they will try and ride the coattails of UAA again, playing the 'oh why won't UAA recognise us - they don't like other forums challenging them', 'its so childish' and 'room for everyone'. Sadly this is a cycle as it seems most that join get fed-up of the bulls**t and shady behaviour so come back - numbers fall away to virtually nothing and so another attack starts. There is room for everyone that behaves with some decency - I think this episode puts to bed any expectation of UAA supporting them in anything they do anymore and any attempt to push their propaganda will just be seen as tolling Anybody can come back, being honest and respectful with the rest of us is really all we ask.ย

I kept seeing them, they spoke , without words. This is the genius of his work fore me. Body language. No one is taught the basics and yet all Humans know what certain postures , poses or stances mean. It transcends the spoken or written word and that is pretty cool for "graffiti", which often relies on symbols or alphabet.
