Heyo!
Ken from Spoke Art and Hashimoto Contemporary galleries in San Francisco here, big thanks to everyone who picked up an Eelus print in our drop last Friday. With the print selling out in minutes I know that a lot of fans missed out and wanted to run a quick contest here for forum members.
TO ENTER:
Post a photo of your Eelus collection.
GRAND PRIZE:
We will pick one winner here on UAA who will receive a free "Baby Shot Me Down" print, no strings attached. Winner will be chosen completely at random.
RUNNERS UP:
We have a handful of flipper refunds we were able to sort out. Three runners up will receive an opportunity to purchase a print at cost ($250 plus shipping.) The three runners up will be chosen based on the following:
1) Best collection: A combination of quality and quantity.
2) Best frame job: Post your best frame up! Extra points for nice photos, settings and aesthetic.
3) Random: One runner up will be chosen at random!
EXPRESSO BEANS:
We'll also be running this same contest over at Expresso Beans. Separate winners will be chosen there, so if you want to double your chances then enter over there too!
THE FINE PRINT:
This contest is only open to collectors who missed out on the recent drop. However, seeing others collections is always fun, so if you already own a "Baby Shot Me Down" but still want to participate then please do! Simply mention that you're playing for fun in your post.
DEADLINE:
Winner will be chosen sometime this Friday, so get your entries in before midnight Thursday night!

Very cool post and contest. Are there any options of new Eelus fans/aspiring collectors that don't currently have any pieces and would like to start one, but missed out on the print release due to poor timing (like moi)?

But, with that said, if this contest goes well then we'll definitely run another one on our next release with Eelus so may not be a bad time to begin picking up some Eelus prints so you can participate later!

I spent about three hours yesterday hunting down eBay flippers and refunding them so we could offer these to forum members who are actual fans, not flippers.

We actually didn't get any refund requests, however I have an inbox of pissed off flippers, so there's always that.
Canvases definitely get major points on this one, psyched to see some myself!

I do have a suggestion that one print could be offered to members of either forum who are yet to obtain a print by Eelus and had been members for a 'reasonable' period. It really doesn't matter where you draw the line as you will still get some haters (they joined 4 months ago and you have set the minimum of 6 months
...etc...). I know this is effectively using established membership of the forum as a proxy for 'real fan' and not flipper (debatable in itself) but I see lots of works offered by members on here at cost just after release and are not seeking to make a gain.
