Pricing totally depends on them actually, since this is a giclee print. If 1xrun can do giclees and sell them at affordable prices, no reason why it cannot be done here.

Looks like a piece created for mass appeal.... lacks some of the details and feeling from her other pieces imo

Still an interesting piece, but I can't explain why it doesn't move me like some others do.

Obviously that for a SC print is cheap compared to other prints but ths could really undermine her market value. I like the idea of a print for all, but a smaller (cheaper to post/frame) image at $150 with a huge run wouldn't affect her reputation and would build her audience, but I think this is too dear to be affordable to many and too cheap and easily available to be collectible. Honestly I'm a fan of SC but $290 plus shipping for a print that is open to the public for 72 hrs is EXPENSIVE. Agreed. Open editions such as this giclee should be more affordable to all, even with artists who are popular such as Chevrier. I have friends who admire her work and were looking forward to a 72 hour release because they would really like a piece of her art on their wall and couldn't afford her more recent print releases or even if they could, spent so much time F5 ing on their laptops to get a limited edition one in their cart, they almost lost the will to live! Waiting eagerly for the price, then seeing $290 plus the obvious shipping from Canada, they've mostly decided not to buy. If the print was more reasonably priced it would be an opportunity to increase her fan base even wider. Having said that, they'll be plenty buying whatever the price. |

That aside, this should really be half that price since the aim is to give all fans the opportunity to grab one of her prints. By pricing at the price they did, they kinda contradict what they had seek to achieve. For all we know, by selling at a lower price, it could actually entice more people to hop on the train and profits work out the same.
I now know I'll be one of those who'll opt out at that price point.
