Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by lacklisted on Jan 14, 2019 17:19:17 GMT 1, Blu has to be the most difficult artist to search for on eBay. I got better results when i used other key words such as 'POW' and 'Pictures on Walls'.

Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by sapi on Jan 14, 2019 20:37:12 GMT 1, You've heard there's a black book out there as well... no ? it was mentioned a long time back on wk , chap in the us has/had it.. yes, i was following Wooster Collective daily when they posted this video pagethrough (and just watched the video again and recommend it). since it was a gift i do not think it will ever come up on the secondary market (i hope they will donate it to a museum one day). WC notes that Blu "said that each week he did a new sketchbook" so there must be more (but maybe Blu has all the rest) and hopefully those will find their way to a museum &/or website so we can all see more of his work and process at some point.
met - has , i'm sure , a few stories to tell about his ... search for that interview. i am not sure what this means (or where/what to search for)

I think the drawing is about democracy being a myth/scam just like religion. we vote/pray to what we want but we never get it i first read it as church controlling allegedly democratic states (so deeply "in bed" with the government that folks vote at a confessional with a priest monitoring and advising parishioners on how to vote). i now also read the voting at confessional/penance aspect as suggesting that folks think they are absolved of all the wrongs of society/ongoing crises because they voted (akin to the "i gave at the office" excuse for ignoring charity).

Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by sapi on Jan 14, 2019 21:45:45 GMT 1, hi all please, please, please, could you post every auction or seller's contact that sell anything about BLU? the more time passes the less chance there is to recover something of this extraordinary artist ... personally I have already lost too many occasions, at the beginning when I began to follow him, I was not working yet and even the first few runs seemed expensive to me. So I would not let me slip pieces like "il nulla" at 350£ and ....if someone want to sell "Gaza strip" let me know! many thanks Matteo
Blu is indexed on artnet and artsy and hopefully one day we will see inventory there &/or secondary market shop(s) will stock Blu and present reasonable options for private sellers and buyers.

You may be right as well, I mistakenly ignored the context with Italian politics when Blu drew this. Context is definitely key for some of Blu's more enigmatic work

"democrazia cristiana" was the name of the italy's bigger political party in the 5 decades after wwII. It was the incarnation of the war between 2 sights of the world, the religious side and the communist side. Like the name said, there was a big commingling between religion and politics, especially in the democrazia cristiana party. In the early years after the end of ww2, the church literally said to people how to vote.

Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by vanisco on Jan 31, 2019 23:04:16 GMT 1, WOW!!! 400 euro and already sold... OMFG! Exactly! Although the auction doesn't even show the embossed logo. Low right of that page. I mean, this is also a very important detail in order to distinguish between signed (200) or unsigned (how many? - anyone knows?) editions of the book, right?

Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by sapi on Feb 7, 2019 19:43:20 GMT 1, compared to his peers from street art 2.0 (when the internet, with websites like wooster collective, blew up street art) -- Banksy, JR, Os Gemeos, Swoon, Shepherd Fairey -- these prices (~$1500 for Funeral and $2333 for Monkey) look like a bargain. as previously noted, Blu has less than 2000 prints, in total, across all of his editions (with his last release of editioned or original works ~2011, and no more planned, ever -- he wants nothing to do with selling his art (consistent with the original ethos of street art — which was anti-commercial)). many of his peers have single print editions that exceed all of the Blu prints combined (and all of them have 1000s to 10000s to 100000s more collectible work than Blu). at the same time, Blu's recent book establishes that he has been consistently killing it, with giant politically engaged murals year after year.
as noted before, CMYK, one of Blu’s most loved prints, is also available on ebay for $5250. this is a new norm (it has not sold quickly - and you may be able to find it for less (or may not) - but someday this will also look like a bargain).

Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by sapi on Feb 12, 2019 22:58:55 GMT 1, I'm afraid I have to disappoint you A signed BLU SKETCH NOTE-BOOK DVD sold on ebay about two months ago with respect, all this shows is one ebay transaction (not sure if it is this one, but i tipped a collector friend who acquired one of these from ebay and now has it on a video monitor alongside other video work - it is a solid work). to me, i see this as someone getting a great deal (and i am not surprised it happened on ebay - as many have already noted in these threads, Blu is difficult to track because his name (blu) is so common - here the seller added POW (even though the work did not come from there) and also Faile (wtf? how about Banksy?), and that only works for folks who know/remember to add terms like that to their search (and get the same terms the seller is using). Blu is difficult to track on the web for the same reason (and also due to the fact that there is not much inventory and no clear marketplace - no secondary market resellers have stepped up to stock Blu consistently as far as i can tell and his opting out of the market ~7 years ago has limited the ability for someone to do that (it would have happened naturally with galleries showing his newer work if that existed for sale)).
i agree with gentlemental that the signed video work (ed. of 100 -- i have two) should be "thousands of pounds" (trading at the same rate as his prints). in fact, i feel like his video work shows his genius more than many of his prints (and the videos have been viewed and shared millions to tens of millions of times on youtube and vimeo). buy a monitor and dedicate it to the video (for about the cost of framing a print these days) and it has more wall power and is more enjoyable than most of the prints.
as with all of Blu's work, it will take time for the market to sort (especially since there was so little work made for the market and so little comes up for resale). in the meantime, the going rate for any of his works will be whatever someone is willing to sell the work for (which will change with time).

Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by samo on Feb 14, 2019 15:53:23 GMT 1, Very Nice shygetshigh eager to see the whole hand finished Head Quarter print.
Last year Positive Propaganda had a groupshow: INTERNATIONAL DEALMAKER with artist such as: Escif, Fairey and Blu. There was a version of Head Quarter where Blu made a drawing on the right shoulder of the figure looks quite cool.

Blu 🇮🇹 Bologna Street Art • Print Release • Art For Sale, by samo on Feb 14, 2019 17:23:07 GMT 1, I hear you Sapi. His video work obviously is an important part in his oeuvre that deserves focus. The signed Muto DVD does not trade hands that much. I only have seen it for sale a hand full of times on ebay and this forum, usually below the thousand pound range. The last result that I've seen was a year ago though so things could have changed. Maybe you are right. I guess time will tell. And yes ebay is a nightmare to search for Blu art usually if you do a generic ebay search you will find Blu-ray's 🙈.
For the people that don't want to spend a couple of thousand pounds . You can watch most of Blu's videos for free on his YouTube channel:
www.youtube.com/user/notblu/videos
In this interview Blu speaks about a documentary called Megunica directed by Lorenzo Fonda. Megunica sought to capture blu’s creative process as he was inspired by travelling through Central and Latin America. This documentary seems to be available via Vimeo on demand for a small fee
Haven't seen it yet, looks interesting. Has somebody else seen the Megunica documentary?

Haven't seen it yet, looks interesting. Has somebody else seen the Megunica documentary? Blu also has a vimeo page where you can watch his videos for free. years back, after big bang big boom, he posted on his blog that he had been working a lot on a new video and i am hopeful we will see another like muto and big bang. the reason the signed/editioned dvd is worth money (given it is all available for free on the internet) is that is the way art collectors can own the work and display it alongside other collected works (there is an exclusive club element of collecting that ends up funding a lot of the entire art ecosystem). i watched vimeo.com/ondemand/megunica years back (it was free when they first released it) and recommend it to all who follow Blu (it is a rare opportunity to see him work and travel and engage with folks - he is still anonymous in the film but you get a sense of his personality and sense of adventure and i think you see him paint some parts that end up in bing bang big boom). the trailer at the link gives you an idea. i did not know about vimeo on demand but will likely rent this one day when i want to catch up on Blu again (refresh my recollection).
blu did a talk, with fake glasses/fake nose, at the influencers festival when he painted money shark (available here - in italian? spanish? & i am not able to follow (maybe in the future we will have google translating videos in real time))
