I was listening to Jonesie's JukeBox today on a local radio station in LA hosted by non other than Steve Jones and his guest today was Shepard Fairey. A Great new show for a couple of hours during lunch. It's on 95.5 KLOS and I'm sure you can hear it on the internet for those interested. Had I seen this earlier I would have called the station and given him a rash of s**t reminding him of this pic. The Bowie shirt is cool though. Actually, I probably have a few unflattering pics of myself as I'm sure we all do. Hey, that sounds like a great thread " Show Us Your Most Unflattering Personal Picture" what do ya think Coach? |

When musicians die people automatically go to iTunes or any retailer and buy their music. Just look at Motorhead last week who had NEVER been on any music chart and suddenly they are. I also had about 5 emails from LP retailers and those I have mixed feelings about, but then I did buy Blackstar last week and have been listening to it - maybe today a bit differently. I have had two emails about Bowie art today and one was actually nice but Global Art Traders was the one that was too much for me and you can always do what I did... UNSUBSCRIBE. Not worth the complaint and any business should be tracking this and be aware that they seem desperate. Motorhead NEVER made any music charts?? Thats just plain wrong.... I remember as a kid growing up in Bolton in the mid seventies we had a lad called Gary Cresswell in our street that was clearly ahead of his contemporaries. I remember he was always being ridiculed for his look. Even my mom, who wasn't one to point finger, used to talk to my dad about Cresswell's dyed orange hair and his dash of eyeliner here or there. Back then this was pretty taboo . I remember staring at him as he used to walk down the road, carrying his LP's, thinking wtf... He often got beat up. I now know Gary Cresswell was the only person in Bolton dressing, as well as supporting, the Glam Rock Movement. Don't know what happened to him, but God Bless him for opening my eyes to a world out there I had no idea existed back in the seventies...all thanks to Mr. Bowie. Yesterday I was reading the RollingStones piece by Sean Penn.In it he references the film The Falcon And The Snowman. I immediately began to hum This Is Not America, the theme tune sung by DB... An hour later I heard he had died peacefully. I'll leave it at that....

When the truth is that some people do not want to integrate and live in harmony and when one mentions stuff like the Cologne attacks by migrants against women on new years eve. The womens fault for dressing normally, the womens fault for wearing perfue, the womens fault for being western women. The governments fault for not handing out money and free housing fast enough to the migrants.
I can see the complaints if someone stencilled a woman in a mini skirt on a wall opposite a mosque though.

You didn't answer my post a while back as to how you spend the 150K funding for the Nuart Festival and how artists are selected and paid and whether you sell or promte any of the artists art yourself too.
